Holding in the sickness
My mind becomes numb
Dragging through the thickness
Of things yet to come
Holding in the illness
Of what they call a disease
Holding back the stillness
Pain I feel with ease
Holding in the consenses
Of that of which I know
Coming to my senses
Is something they've yet to show
Holding onto love
Holding onto hate
Waiting for the man above
To tell me the rate
Of all things beautiful
All things rare
All things consentual
All things unfair
Holding back the sickness
My mind becomes numb
Dragging through the thickness
Of what I have become
I am tired
I am exhausted
Expired
From what this all costed
I'm empty, done
Broke and alone
Still I am the one
Through which time has shown
Had a conscience
Had a mind
Past and present tense
Though often confined
I was not alone
I was not free
Though I've come undone
I remain me

Nice look at inner strength. I love the flow of the words. Peaceful yet with a bite. Good work!

"Though I've come undone

The way I see it, June; the key is in these verses. Love, peace, and strength to you,
