I've heard it said,
That a woman's work
Is never done-

She gets up at the crack
Of dawn, makes the coffee,
Breakfast, sends the kids to school

If she is a stay home mom
There is more for her to do,
Laundry, shopping, cleaners,

Dusting,vacuuming,cleaning
Fixing, baking-
Dinner too...

My mother stayed home
Did all of these and more,
There were four girls to raise.  .  .

Lessons learned from my working Mom
taught me to respect her even more
having to carry the load at home...
and out into life after leaving home

But I do so appreciate the stay at
home Moms *Deborah* and your tribute

I bet she was a thin little thing after all that and probably did not have the luxury of a lot of sleep either.

Yes, a stay at home Mom (at that time) did not get much recognition for her hard work. That in itself is a full-time job and much later in life usually only appreciated by the children who understood now what a chore that was.

Wonderful write Deborah

Yep I also came from a big family, nine children, and my Mom didn't have time to go to work, between making her own bread every day, doing laundry for eleven, and all the rest of what it took to raise that many children she really didn't have time for much but always time to give us all a hug and a kiss at bedtime.

Wow how I remember those days. Mom was a stay at home Mom with eight kids, she seemed to make time for it all. Great write.

So did mine, but she worked part time most of the time. She finally got my dad doing things late in life. Before that, he brought home the money and put his feet up. We always had a hot meal and the smell of fresh baking and canning of fresh fruit and vegetables in the summer.

Those days are gone, and with it, a lot of love as modern moms multitask through the day.

Yes indeed, I know this scenario so well as I watched my mother raise seven children. Thanks for sharing. Love and best wishes,
