Sitting on a beach under the palm trees,
Just after sunset,
A slight breeze catches my hair- playing with it softly-
Moonlight is trying to shine through the gathering clouds
My barefeet- nestled comfortably in the sand-
I feel warm rain drops beginning to fall, gently.
My first thought- take cover-
but I resist-
enjoying the scent of the ocean
Letting go of thought and embracing being -
I lean back, close my eyes, and let the rain fall on my face,
with droplets running down my chin.
The rain holds me in a timeless embrace
My hair turns to ringlets- my wet clothes cling to my body.
Peacefully, I stand, stretch, and turn slowly toward home.
