I Can Touch You There

Closed eyes; Shutters protect; Peace;
my place of understanding-
Oh I can touch you there; With fingertips
wet with desire and humid emotions-
Heat from your body drenches me like rain;
Allowing me; Only me; to drink from your vein
of riches in this life

Oh how I’ve missed you; I’ve missed your slow
hot breath tingling down the back of my neck-
The sparkled glow in your eyes, as I undress
before you-
Your naughty smile; and the moans of our time
spent together-
Oh yes I can touch you there-

Oh how I’ve missed you; I’ve missed tracing your
lips; Nibbling slightly; Feeding my starved soul from
the embers of your fiery passions-
Feeling your arms about my waiste; and the
closeness only two lovers share-
I’ve missed fading into the sunrises of the newest
Spring mornings-
and the sunsets of passing days-
Oh yes, I can touch you there- Oh I can touch you there

Closed eyes; Protecting me; Holding you;
Bringing you back to me for another kiss-
Another moment;
Oh how I’ve missed you- Oh how I’ve missed you
in my life-
In my dreams-
Oh how I need to open my eyes; and see you there;
Yes; Oh yes I can touch you there

My gawd, Lisa, this is so well written that it seemed as though I was living each line and emotion. It quickened my breath and made me long for the touch of that one who has yet to return. Oh! but in my dreams when I drift deep into my soul, I can touch him there for his perfumed ink has left its tattoo upon my most private spaces. This poem grabs on and holds tight and the will to deny melts into the indigo-pink sunrise of hope. Fantastic writing, Lisa, you have knocked my socks off, yet again, with the skill and magic of your pen.
Take care,
Sherry

This is one of the best poems of passion and love and all that goes with those two emotions that I believe I have ever read. It's naked starkness is what grabbed me immediately and then possessed me in an immovable stranglehold for the duration of my reading it. Absolutely first-rate, Lisa.
