Christmas
He came on the scene
many centuries ago-
Donning a bright red hat,
An’ a beard white as snow-
He flew through the air
in a sleigh and reindeer,
filled to the brim with toys
and lots of Christmas cheer-
He slid down the chimneys,
or through windows left ajar-
to bring smiles to all children,
both near and afar-
His eyes how they sparkled,
when left treats he did spy-
Cookies with milk, chocolate
cake or lemon pie-
Christmas Eve was his night,
to shine and to show-
That giving is a blessing,
wrapped in paper and bows-
Through the snow and the fog-
the wind or the rain,
His travels are swift from
the North Pole to Spain-
Not once does he whimper,
nor does he complain-
He just wipes off his specs,
and secures his cane-
He knows his importance,
in the famous Christmas cause-
His name is St. Nick, or just
Dear ‘Ol Santa Claus

A little bit of whimsey to start our season off right. This is so cute, child and adult, alike, will find joy in your words. I hope you are doing well, Lisa, how are things with you and your family? Wonderful to read you and to have your poem kick off my Christmas season.
Take care,
Sherry |

Thank you Lisa, there have been too many scrooge humbugs type posting lately who if they had their way would abolish another little bit of the magic that is Christmas. Great write and one that makes me proud to put on my Santa suit every day to go out and represent Santa and all that he represents to this often troubled and angry world. Merry Christmas...ho ho ho
