There are many definitions of sadness.
It can cripple us if we don't turn it into creative expession. I try to keep it simple before my own tears drown me.

The Winds of Our Grief

Blow us into a world of fog

No ceiling, no doors, no windows

Looking around

we see failure

we see loss

we see dead ends

and

we are sadly deaf, blind & still

The Winds of Our Grief

Blow us into a fog where

We cannot smile even if we try

We can’t remember why

A torrent of shame blows

a hole in our chest

suspending us and our grief

Unaided til our angels fly

us away!

Most people talk about sadness and we hear very seldom about grief, because grief we automatically connect with death.
But there are all kinds of griefs, like when "when we see loss"
Great poem.

Joyce,

What a sad write. I'm sure things will get better for you. This was written very well, and your emotions come through.
