Happy New Year to my family at AD, and thank you for your support over the years, it means so very much to me. ~sgh

The Canvas

As I am waiting for the ball to drop

My life whizzes past me

All of the beginnings and

All of the endings

Somehow paint this Eve

There have been good times

And there has been sadness

There has been amaze

And there has been apathy

All getting cozy upon the palette

Each new thought smatters upon

The canvas of my life

I watch it all unfold

Rich purples, angry greens

Soft magenta moments and shadowy haze

The clock strikes twelve

The ball drops; a New Year

My thoughts ebb

The canvas holds images tempered by time

And I wonder how it will appear, complete

That's quite a beautiful poem, Sherry. About your last line-- it lingers-- and it got me to wondering... maybe there's no such thing as complete... maybe we are like Mr. Rat says the river is-- always changing--always the same... forever getting tempered, refined, molded... great words to think on. --Charlie

I'm sorry I mimssed this, sis, but I was getting myself sorted in Australia. This is an amazing poem of a year gone by, and wondering what the new year will look like on the canvas, in a year. Nicely written, and well projected. I like the picture too.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSSS)))))))))), sister Barbie

Sorry that I missed this unfinished work. If I could take it off your hands for a pittance, someday I will sell it in a museum for a fortune.

We all can only wonder of our tomorrows and the hues of yesterday can only tint the future as it unfolds...the ball has dropped and I am sure you shall make it better when it comes time to unveil that canvas. Great work.

Another beautiful word-painting and life-tapestry taking shape through the inspiration of your pen, Sherry. Each time your work appears in the listings, I know it will be something that is full of integrity and meaning and which plumbs the hidden depths of being. May 2008 be a year in which there are many resolutions as well as fresh discoveries with which to add colour, texture and any necessary openings and closures as your journey continues. Bless you and thank you. Kate xx
