              CONFINED TO A WHEELCHAIR

Confined to a wheelchair ain’t easy

 ‘cause I’m physically challenged.

It’s my nanny, but is also my independence

    Which opens the world.

It isn’t a happy memory to be called

 a cripple

or sit in an uncomfortable electric horse

that makes me real ANGRY and unhappy.

I’ve spent lots of days, months and years

asking myself, “Why am I confined to a wheelchair?”

I am in a strange world with lots of people

who run and walk in a blissful field.

I have a desire to be independent

   From the dark ages.

I’ll always be physically challenged

  Until death parts me.

Powerful write; as one who is physically disabled myself, this one spoke volumes to me. (I'm not confined to a wheelchair, but I do walk with two crutches, and I have other issues.) Very well done; bravo!
