It’s summer in Stockholm where international youth gather to plan peace, while opponents in their midst threaten them with disruptions and with murder. Ghada Shafi from ..
We took our love to water
We kissed and spoke of love like islands
The earth shifted, smiling
That was a good day
That was the day, my past fell into the ocean and drowned
If you hadn't come along I'd probably be there still
Treading water and asphyxiated by his
grasp with dead fingers rung around my neck.
You took me in your arms and kissed me
We kissed with torches through the midnight
and began to dance on the grave of a place
known for its ignorance.
I felt safe, I couldn't see past your eyes
But you protected me, your eyes held sincerity
You said you were tired so we retreated from the water
and I kissed your eyes closed on a sandy beach
Each kiss a new paragraph to the story of us
While you slept
Bones washed up on shore
And I buried them
Where no dog would find them
Deep in the meadow muffin
Born from our bodies
A makeshift hell
Stinking in the decay
Where they belonged
When you awoke
I ripped out the pages of filth before you
and scorched them...
Starting with a blank page once again
Now it's only us against the world
With torches in hand
through the dawn
