It's close to graduation... I'm leaving a lot behind =/ |
|
Each farewell stings slightly more;
We know the final is quickly looming.
Time is a beast, of which I abhor,
Still more, as our term it is consuming.
The promise of independence,
The exhilaration of progress,
They surrender their ascendance
To the fear I cannot suppress.
As we silently discuss my divergence,
Let us ignore the inevitable grief.
And when you experience my resurgence,
We can share, once again, in immense relief.
And if I should return and find myself replaced,
I will be reduced to nothing, my affections debased.

A wonderful piece reflecting upon that which will be left behind, to search for a new beginning, well done....
Be always safe,

Time passes quickly, especially as graduation nears and we begin to reflect upon the new roads that will be in our futures. May each road you find be one that brings you closer to your dreams.
Nice poem.
All the best,

I like this composition... "To Dust" flows on waves of the sea of inner mind. Outstanding painting of thoughts in motion.
I salute You, Poet.

Powerful introspective reflection that can relate to the universal theme of time passing and life's flow. Nicely done, Kacie. It is also fine to read you again. Love and best wishes to you,
