Family Reunion

Oh, woe is me Oh, woe is me!
I've got to go to a reunion of the family!
Oh, how will my cheeks survive?
After all of the pinching when I arrive?
Oh, why must I go Oh, why must I go?
To hang out with old people teaching me to sew?
Oh, if only I wasn't the only child,
Instead of complaining, I would have smiled!
Oh, I wish that they would forget I existed,
Then on the invitiations, I would not be listed.
Oh, why can't I stay home, and watch TV?
To avoid smelling Aunt Mable's perfume potpourri?
Oh, I guess I should go,
Plaster a smile and say "Hello."
Oh, it's only for one day,
What's that you say?
Oh, it's 15 states away!
Sorry, but I'm here to stay. |

Oh I remember feeling the same way.. butnow, at the young age of 42.. I wish I had spent more time at family reunions. <smile> I stopped going when I was 18... Would turn back the clock in a heart beat and have those people back with me.
Hang in there
this too shall pass. |
