Found in my book "On Trains".

 Underneath Boston

Black wing tips need soles dusty
well run Nikes under faded
jeans Rockport walkers
down at the heels wear polyester
a copy of the Boston Herald
shoes of the evening red
stilettos rest in the seat
next to the door a quick
exit at Broadway tasseled
loafers guide chinos creased
like an accordian to the nearest
pole trains lurch through underground
tunnels to Arlington Station
Birkenstocks under white socks
Ten Geniuses for Our Time
rise at Harvard Square
fresh from shoeshine chairs
Government Center's burgundy Florsheims
commute to Braintree
at Charles MGH white oxfords
squeeze between barefooted
thongs lugged work boots loose laces
under a Red Sox cap climb
out of the Big Dig board the Blue
Train fashionable slides emerge
from Copley motorcycle boots toe
to toe with Air Jordans
to Dudley Square feet
crossed at ankles
legs crossed foot dangling
pigeon feet duck feet
flat feet toes pointed
upturned sprinters's stance
standing at attention feet
at ease feet.

You have given me a "taste" of Boston from an original perspective. Thank you, Linda. Welcome to AD. Love and best wishes,
