Breathe

breathe

I used to remember how you used to breathe

Sweet slumber creeping upon our one second long eternity

Every time you stole a breath

I ticked them off on my finger tips

I cut up pieces and stitched some new

A whole world for me

Made up of rags of you

I used to remember your washed off smells

Day old listlessness heavy on your breath

I picked off the scents

Sometimes catching my death

And then silently dead, but fervently begging

To be allowed to be rudely shaken awake

And breathe some more so I could live

And take some more so I could give

Us,

Reasons

To build, some new

A world for me

A world where I could roam bare naked free

Little remembrances dotted in your sweat

On the tip of my tongue

Tasting perfect

Smacking in delight

Shrivelling in fright

Scared at how I learnt so much

So fast

That I was petrified

That if once more I had to die

Will I keep remembering the scent of your breath?

In some circular dream

Even in my death

I used to remember how you used to breathe

There was this once when I believed

That I could blind fold my heart

And still know it’s you

Just by the silent heaving of your breath

Catch my death

When I caught your breathing

Dying was never so relieving

I used to remember

Now I am beginning to forget

Breathe once more

So I can, like before

Die once more

Then rudely woken up

And build me some new

A whole little world

Made up of rags of you

Touch you

Breathe, silently

In hope for one more trivial moment of eternity...

Girl on the edge
