He has arrived, his father said,
We’ve named him Curtis Roy
He’s very big, but all is fine,
With our beautiful baby boy.
The call was ended, emotions high,
The tears began to fall
My heart did skip a beat or two
Over our beautiful baby boy.
The first time I held him in my arms
The tears I had to fight
This was my grandson, so hard to believe
This beautiful baby boy.
He is so happy, this little one
Like I’ve never seen before
Life is blessed, that is for sure,
For our beautiful baby boy.
To walk into the house at night
And have him smile at you
It is the most delightful sight
From our beautiful baby boy.
But watch those teeth, they’ll give a nip
When playful he does feel,
But we don’t care, we line right up for another kiss
From our beautiful baby boy.
And though our time you do demand,
Our hearts you’ve easily won
Sloppy kisses now freely flow
From our beautiful baby boy.
So Curtis Roy, when you grow up
You’re bound to know it’s true
You’re surrounded by love, from one and all
To our beautiful baby boy.
Curtis darling, I write this poem
From me to you, with love
And when you’re grown, you still will be
Our beautiful baby boy.
