SOUL SOUP

© 2011 Wanda L. Harrell

Each person on this earth has their own recipe,

But my soul soup starts with an intricate broth that has been

Unhurriedly simmered with a lifetime of experiences.

To this unique soup, I add frequent dashes of smiles and laughter

To tame the slow-simmering broth when it becomes too tangy or savory.

And to season away the saltiness of frequently shed tears,

I add several cups running over with personal hope and sweet love,

The personally distinctive ingredients that create my own soul soup.
