Twilight Market Shares
I yearned to shed my skin
a background change that left me
on the red eye lookin’ down
on the early light of the city
that never sleeps.
Movin’ so fast is business as usual
drinks at McGuniess slowed the pace
of daylight runnin’ along the sidewalk.
A quick bite at Twenty One
and I was back at the hotel
primmin’ and prunin’
with Armani and Aramus
The cabby left me at the open end
of a huge flat in the diamond district
I found my way to the upper deck
and spent some time swimmin’
with the silver circuit
Bone dry martini’s and everything
is lookin’ good
as the jazz music filled the place with joy.
She was all there was
and walkin’ toward the balcony
Red dress laced so tight
almost touchin’ the glass as if to see
if my hand would pass through it.
I couldn’t say a word as I turned
to look at the Manhattan skyline
she turned to look at me
and fell deep into my eyes.
We slipped out to some uptown club
as I slipped my hands around her waist
she turned back and lost me in a kiss.
There was the eternity of Manhattan
as I held the jewel of the city in my hands.
Livin’ in shades and walkin in patterns
even I can stumble
on the winning Lottery ticket
I’m just another skip jack
and all the papers read the same on Tuesday
but tonight I have fallen in love,
I don’t see tomorrow anymore.
What would I be
if I never took the chance
in the glits of the city
that never sleeps.

| Tim, taking advantage of the "moment" and enjoying it to the hilt. I enjoyed this write & the visual images portrayed therein. |

A day in the life, expressed with very passionate emotions, well said...
Be always safe,
