These are actually lyrics to a song I wrote (the Lord gave me) when I was only about 12-years-old, growing up in Fort Wayne, Indiana, caring for my baby brothers, while both my parents were hard at work. (My father worked as a technical writer and my mother was a registered nurse.) At that time, I also composed two other songs, "Song of the Bayou" and "Poor Li'l Baby," which are all featured in my debut action-thriller, "The Rise and Fall of the Witch on the Bayou." |

Like the touch of a wayworn child
and the woes of a wounded dove,
I feel your hand in mine reaching out--
With a yearning love that was once denied,
And I hear the words from above:
"Love is not defied."
Take my hand and we'll journey on
to a land that is love-inspired,
Yes, we'll walk on and on through the night--
With a burning love that will quench the fire,
And we'll hear the words from above:
"Love is not defied."
Come along with me,
We will journey on with a love divine,
Won't you walk with me
'till the morning sun meets the roaring tide?
Take my hand and we'll journey on
to a land that is love-inspired,
Yes, we'll walk on and on endlessly,
With a burning love that will last through time,
And we'll hear the words echo on:
"Love is not defied. Love is not defied."
