Chalk Marks

There are chalk marks everywhere, you just can't see them...anymore!

Black Girl..
I want to tell you…
About the Chalk Mark…
Faded away on a well-traveled street…
Buried deep within the weather beaten concrete…
Not seen by today’s Black Girl…
Running/walking to and fro on a day-to-day-basis…
The outlined shape of a Black Girls’ Chalk Mark…
Recognizing the very last moments of a Black Girls’ life…
Compassionately outlined by a stranger in Blue…
HER Chalk Mark…
Marking the Very Spot where that Black Girl laid…
I know that spot…
Never forgot that spot…
Thou, years pass with days to come…
The Outline…
Of a Black Girl Chalk Mark…
Thou not seen…
Still…
Remains.

Your muse-strokes touch deep. Brilliant and very moving....

I love it. Without wasting a word, you have painted a picture
that is bound to stay in readers' minds. Certainly it will
in mine. Clever, provocative, and it rings true. Quite a feat! 'Pea' <3
