What is this thing we call love? |
|
What is this thing we call love,
intangible, precious, shared?
How do we know we've found it,
with what can it be compared?
You touched my heart long ago
your caring, thoughtful ways beguiled
how could I resist your charm
when you declared your love and smiled?
I recall thinking your smile
lit my life like sun after rain,
you made me feel so happy
forget all my past and all pain.
Your kisses and love letters
assured my still worrying mind
that love can last and endure
and that ours was the lasting kind.
You've always been my best friend,
my lover, my husband and more
nobody could replace you,
be such fun and never a bore!
I've treasured this love of ours
knowing that it is very rare
lasting over fifty years,
like precious jewels, beyond compare.
How can I describe our love,
the warm glow I feel when you're near?
I can but reach the rainbow
of happiness, when you are here.
The stars and the moon are mine
as long as I can have your love,
till death do us part, darling,
and then, far beyond and above!

Oh, this is hilarious! As a suggestion, I would change the last line to "But, best of all, their brains and bums can easily interchange!"
That would better maintain the flow and cadence, IMO. -- Jeff |

LOL, Verica,
I know this much: surgeons make the W O R S T patients! LOL It's sad, though: talk to anyone working at a particular hospital, they don't want any procedures done at their own hospital! Another excellent write, well done.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
And the part about the politicians: SPOT ON!!!!!! |
