Into the Mind of a Schizophrenic

Demons coursing through the night

Raucous, wild and ranting

Demons coursing through the night

Raucous, wild and ranting

A toothless crone

A screaming banshee

They whirl and swirl in mindless flight

Taunting me, inviting me

Like a whirling dervish

Or reverse centrifuge

They want to draw me

Into their insidious web

I do not want to go there

I am a good man

I mean no harm

The Lord is with me

Or is He?

Why does He not smite them

Send them where they belong?

Where are His angels

His heavenly host?

They appear, but too brief

How long can I endure?

Can He not see?

The demons are winning

My resistance is waning

Can I end it all

Of my own volition?

Will He accept me

Or banish me

To that other place?

I am there already

What do I have to lose?

You have your sould to lose, which is too precious to lose the fight. Excellent insight into the mind of a schizophrenic.
