A poem I wrote one day when I realized how much more time I was spending on the computer than with my children. That has changed.

the years fly by so hopelessly fast
taking my time and i miss it all
they won't be young forever
they won't be young forever

i walk through the house
little laughter coming from the corner room
makes me smile
makes me smile

mommy can you play with us?

no mommy's got to 'work'
sit down in my chair and waste the day
nothing's more important
than that screaming blue screen
that board with empty keys
while my children scream
my children scream

with their stares, their loving stares
their unfallen tears
that they don't even know how to cry

what have i done

I have to say, this is one of the best pieces I have seen, also one of the few, that deals with the challenges of a young parent in this day and age. Being a parent is rough duty...there are no instruction manuals, so you can only do the best you can do.
I guess, the computer is being used more as a babysitter now, as the TV was at one time.
You most certainly hae the right idea...spend as much time with them as you can...and the time you spend, make it count.
Excellent work here...excellent message.
