A Lovers Sadness!

Written after watching the news and seeing the sadness expressed when a loved one was preparing to deploy overseas and the goodbyes played out.

Sadly she walks alone these days,
within her eyes a glassy daze,
he gave his love to only her,
Sadly now its all a blur.

He left that day when called to fight,
for country,freedom and all things
right,
they kissed goodbye that fateful day,
She stood alone as he walked away.

He turned and smiled, one last wave,
she smiled back, she must be brave,
with hope of heart and one last prayer,
Watch over him Lord with utmost care.

He came in spirit to her side,
she knew right then that he had died,
her heart would always bear the pain,
Of this love she would never feel
again.

Quite touching. Have alook at the poems of Mrs. Felicia Hemans from the 19th century - think you'll enjoy.
