Timidity and Pride

we are fleeting and live in memories

Why glamorize a shooting star
Stealing swiftly through the darkened night,
Fleet and silent as a craven thief
Streaking so to cheat the dawning light?

Flashing thunder booms in flaunting pride
To leave no doubt, with aplomb and flair,
The bolt harbors no timidity of the star,
Yet neither leaves sign of ever passing there.

I love the way you expressed yourself in this poem! What an interesting analogy too. I never will be able to look at a shooting star and not feel its duality of boldness (or rather its show of strength) and timidity again. ~ Sara
