Attaining The Golden Years

They say I've reached my golden years. I just haven't found them yet and wonder if I ever will...

My hair has turned to silver.
Wrinkles crease my brow.
My sight is not as good,
and I wear glasses now!

My joints are stiff with arthritis
and I hobble when I get up to greet a new day.
After awhile, I can walk
in an ordinary way.

I have a hearing aide now,
so I won't miss a word that's said.
I always take it out
when it's time to go to bed.

Some times I'll take a nap
at the most unexpected times,
But whose to say I can't ,
the choice is really mine.

Old age has its merits,
which I've found are very few.
They say these are my golden years,
but I'm not quite sure that's true .

Most days bring new challenges
and I meet them with hope renewd,
that I can keep on living ,
doing the best I can do.

Dispite all the things that are wrong with me,
I remain young at heart.
That's something which remains
with in and seldom does depart.

Live life to it's fullest and enjoy
the dawning of each new day.
One never knows what will happen , along life's unpredictable way.

Like they say, you are as young as you feel and your sense of humor is intact. That is a huge part of staying young. Patrick

THIS WRITING PORTRAYS THE BEAUTY OF 'ATTAINING THE GOLDEN YEARS'...FOR IT TAKES TIME TO REACH THE PLATUE OF WISDOM WHERE ONE CAN SAY...'I TAKE PLEASURE IN THE LITTLE THINGS, WHICH MAKE MY LIFE MORE COMPLETE, I'M EVERY MINDFUL OF MY LORD, AND HOW HIS LOVE TOUCHES ME'. I WILL KEEP THIS, MARYGRACE AND THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS SO WELL DONE WORK. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...

MaryGrace;

I like this piece. Two of the most important things in the world, is to remain young at heart; and to take pleasure in the little things in life. I think we're all too busy acquiring a materialistic junk yard, that we'll all have to get rid of sooner or later. And, then we think it's not worth what we think it was worth. Living life to the fullest is important, too.

Such an honest write, MaryGrace,
straight and true on how things are
and i hear and feel and know every line
and thought;
don't forget the pre-nap naps, they're the business!
Take care and stay strong, Golden Girl.
