Choose To Love

If I desire to be like Him, I must choose to love.

Letting go of my opinions, taking the opinion from above.

I have no right to judge you, your actions are not my concern.

My job is to see you're faced with love, no matter where you turn.

If I find fault with your behavior, then I am supposed to pray,

Not criticize and condemn you, then turn and walk away.

When you look in my eyes, love is all you should see.

Because, in His eyes, you look the same as me.

He shed His blood for all of us, not just for a select few.

Therefore, I pray "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do".

Love can cover a multitude of sins, and melt the coldest heart.

My goal is to draw you to Him, not push you farther apart.

If words of love escape me, then I must keep silent, trusting in the power of prayer.

Laying a firm foundation, awaiting an opportunity to share.

I must never be pushy or overbearing, telling you what you should and shouldn't do.

Instead, I must tell you of His marvelous love, and the priceless beauty He sees in you.

In a world of hate and judgment, my words and deeds must be of love and peace.

Letting His compassion flow through me, bringing sweet release.

Lord let the fire of Your love consume me, and ignite all those I meet.

Let it be an inferno of victory, burning away every circumstance of defeat.

Let it burst forth in times of despair, be a beacon in the darkest night,

Let it zero in on each broken heart I see, like a beam of laser light.

When a hurting soul on the brink of destruction comes in contact with me,

Let Your supernatural love abound, for only Your love can truly set us free.
