It amazes me how fast grandchildren seem to grow compared to children...or is that just my imagination?

Yesterday

Yesterday I held her gently in my big arms

She was just a wrinkled ball of pink

Yesterday I took her for a ride in her stroller

She thought it was funny dropping her toy

Yesterday she held unto my finger she walked

Magic first steps at my side

Yesterday she called my name when she fell

And I held her and kissed the owie away

Yesterday I watched her ride her first bike

Hid tears when she fell and broke her arm

Yesterday I seen her sitting in her classroom

But still wanting me to stay close by

Yesterday I saw her being the star of a play

Proudly I passed her a red rose

Yesterday I was at the finish line when she ran a 5K race

Hugged her when she showed me her medal

Poppy wonders what tomorrow will bring…

Very nice, Fee. I like it.

If your imagination says time is moving faster these days, we've probably both been traveling down the same road.

I posted a vaguely similar poem a few months back, titled I WATCHED, but it was about my son rather than my grand children.

Nicely Done, Dick
