Amidst the Madness...

...I do stand alone...

I do stand alone,

No longer can they be called humanity,

Screeching, scratching, seething at the mouth,

An evil power from beyond the past,

A hundred million in the past, years,

Preying upon humanities fears…

I stand amongst them,

Part & parcel,

But still far apart,

They realize I am not of their ilk,

Lost they have their heart,

No longer are they human,

Not even partial…

They wish to of my kind, scourge,

To our earth they do lay waste,

Dogs, cats, horse destroyed,

They do so in a great haste,

They are one now, their numbers did merge…

I am the last of my kind,

The only to them, resistance,

I have retained mankind’s entire mind,

Till the day their sight comes from behind,

So we can again live in coexistence,

I do stand alone,

Surrounded by madness,

Amongst them I am, for now, unknown…

Great expressive write, I can feel like that lots of times, if i'
d let myself go, but under control i do not roll, I roll with the punches, and abide by the laws as much as i can... Alone but not so alone,,,,these days where i live. Good keep up the good writes...

this sounds like the last man on earth! A few movies of that kind, you did a superb job! This was very well done. I see you walking among the ruins of everything standing alone un-noticed with all the devastation around you.

Really really very good!

One of your best Ed, you captured how I think a lot of us old hippies are feeling these days...myself included.

I think this is one of your best ever. I love the way you separate the one type of being from another... The real people from the masses of 'filling', as my mother used to say.

Amongst them we are, for now, unknown...

This is one chaotic and mad world, Ed. I can relate to what you express. Love and peace,

Madness is catching, Ed, and we will NEVER live in coexistence. Never.
