The Aurora tragedy is but another reminder that it is not easy to find any justice in the seemingly backward-mentality beholden to the lobbyist influence in Washington.

Eruption Nears (revisited)

The tectonic plates of governance remain restless

Patient

Waiting

While we
like a mountain in the clouds
commit to see or not to see

Thus evolves the Bard's question
"...Whether 'tis nobler in the mind
to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
or to take arms against (unseen) troubles
and by opposing, end them?"

But "them" is arguably both a societal and individual challenge

As with Nature's balance
Societal stability can ill afford ignoring obstacles
let alone "...unseen troubles..."

But first comes awareness

Without managing and regulating mountain paths and routes
the nature of strength becomes
but a landslide of scree-momentum
rushing toward the hollow bottom
where the dark caldron of ignorance
keeps rancid the valley to feed upon

Lest we forget Truth

Even a flower's blind wisdom
feels the sun's integrity
opens to its energy
this light for growth
knowing to deny the obvious
is to wither and succumb

Is it possible

some seek not enlightenment
but capricious beliefs?

Listening
while banging drums?

Looking
while hanging mirrors?

All the while

molten cores of pressure
await the moment
when shifting plates of change
lose the battle to contain

'Even a flower's blind wisdom
feels the sun's integrity'

if only we were flowers and if only the light
fell on all

you march in boldly, Odin

I agree with the awareness part. Hard to really know what goes on in washington. Everything always on the verge of collapse, needs to be fixed and debated. Very thought provoking poem.

We are certainly in the process of "shifting the battle to contain," so all that is left is to become third world tough. Never though I would say that, but there it is, folks.
