The countdown of historical proportions stands ready...can we do the right thing?

Phlegmatic of Heart

As leadership surges forward

the political battle field strewn with threadbare armament

the pulmonate countership raises fists of sophistry

continuing to parade their words of innocent people's ignorance

Waiting for another dawn

another cover of cloud

another day

for sacrificial dualism of

altruistic lies and solipsistic conceit

This Neanderthal of mind

will charge again on the tomorrows to come

challenging indomitable resolve to resuscitate

a system

an arterial bastion of energy flow

determined to nourish the blood of moral consciousness

And they will find

we who know the poisons of deceit seeking cover

beneath the twisted festoons of clogged veins

are once again ready to hold firm

the defibrillation of a nation

against whom you would have rely on life support

Yes

you of phlegmatic heart

must once again

consider

the strength of a people's

resolve to do the right thing

Even as you would have Your Right

destroy human dignity for the sake

of a few chairs of engorged group dictatorship

yes

we need to change Washington

but how?

I have no answers to your closing question, Odin, but I love the argument and construct you create here, using a wonderful sustained metaphor that leaves me gasping with a sense of perplexity. I have read this back-to-back with Jerry's post and so am feeling quite affected by the dark powers and pressures our fragile world is currently challenged by. A darkness seems to be closing in that defies sanity. As always, such well-crafted work. xx
