I love night sounds, even the barking of dogs and the hoot of the owl. It wasn't till I spent a night in the jungle in Guatemala that I realized that night sounds can be very different. Although they were mostly birds, the racket of the jungle is very loud and very wild.

The quiet is so rare and precious; few appreciate its wonder and value. I love to wake in the night, when distractions are few and I can spend time with God undisturbed. My soul is more open to Him at times like that.
