What a lovely poem of childhood. I can't believe others are not commenting. Well-written, and delightful.

I love the simplicity of your poem. However, it has a sad impression of the past. When I look at momentos from the past, I think only joy.

Are you trying to make this old mom cry? "Pass nimbly by" certainly expresses the speed of children growing before our eyes until they are suddenly gone. Skillful writing that tells a too-real story of life.
The picture is the perfect touch!

Your poem brings back fond memories of the nights we went out hunting nightcrawlers with their yucky slime on the wet grass. Dr. Brandt paid us very little for our cans full of them.
