Porcelain Clay (Poetry) - 8/11/2015 11:11:26 AM
Love that first verse! It says so very much so adeptly. Shame that the 'play-away' girl had her come-uppance in the end; like the rain in Spain, she should have stayed on the plain!! :)

Porcelain Clay (Poetry) - 7/28/2015 5:47:22 AM
Lots of wordplay going on. As I read I pictured scenes from old Masters like a porcelain vase filled with a 12 rose bouquet painted by Monet. Ron

Silent Skies (Poetry) - 6/13/2015 4:52:19 AM
A firm reminder that not unlike Germany, history is littered with similar stories of power and the lust for same that ultimately brings down its followers. Well penned.

Silent Skies (Poetry) - 6/11/2015 9:29:56 AM
Looks like a Spitfire, those planes and the pilots that flew them saved England from total annihilation...Germany lost many, while the Royal air force lost few...good write, Andy, good to see you writing...-e-

Silent Skies (Poetry) - 6/11/2015 6:30:10 AM
A triumph over tyranny. It must've been something to experience the quiet of peace after six long years of frightening skies with enemies overhead day and night. It's interesting to note that Germany came back quickly after the war and became an economic powerhouse again, thanks to the Marshall plan. I'm not saying that war is an antidote for economic recession. What I'm saying is that perhaps United States would be better off with a Marshall Plan here today. Ron

Silent Skies (Poetry) - 6/11/2015 4:21:14 AM

Springtime Breeze (Poetry) - 5/14/2015 9:27:53 AM
I love the second to the last stanza... Your poem floats on the wind, just as her wisdom does. Life isn't in the bricks and mortar, it is in the warmth and love that surrounds us. Cryssa

Springtime Breeze (Poetry) - 5/6/2015 8:29:04 AM
Love the gentleness and wit of this, Andy. Your voice is the breeze which you emulate with soft, loving repetitions and concentration on your subject - together with the hard-edged wisdom of the edger, not the spade! Delightful, delicate humour here. Very Zen with the final stanza of exhortation which bids us flow with the flow-ers... Neat! So this is what Chrissy's garden looks like now?! :) Very NICE!! XX

Springtime Breeze (Poetry) - 5/4/2015 11:09:01 AM

Springtime Breeze (Poetry) - 5/2/2015 7:16:43 AM
You struck the gardener in me with those poetic words "use an edger rather than the spade." Couldn't get my groove back, so I left the leaves and left. :) Delightful tale.

Springtime Breeze (Poetry) - 5/1/2015 3:59:54 PM

Springtime Breeze (Poetry) - 4/30/2015 11:28:51 AM
For some reason I don't like Wisteria. It seems to remind me of a funeral or something like that. But I like your poem's Springtime flavor and the wonder of just enjoying it all and not so much trying to build castles to your name. Ron

Springtime Breeze (Poetry) - 4/29/2015 4:17:23 PM

Ah-ha!!!...You may not have to ask who you are yourself, but being on the internet, you'll need to know who the other person is before you make friends with the other person. "Who am I" isn't necessary to ask ourselves because we know who we are. "Who are you?" is necessary a question to ask the other. Nice image of the "Thinker"! Sandie

When You Can't Sleep - Live (Poetry) - 6/2/2014 6:05:02 AM
That's one to grab onto! Just at the point of half-asleep, I have had these visions too. Only mine have been quite varied with strange, usually older, people that I didn't recognize… Gone in an instant, just a figment of my imagination. On the other hand, two nights a week, an ample breasted breasted dark skinned woman stands by my bed all night, and, in the morning, seems to delight in allowing me to nestle my head between those half bared lovelies as she hugs me out of bed into my wheelchair. Are you channeling my reality? ;-) Ron

... you know what... I'm not going to flannel here: I don't get it!! ???? It IS very well written and if I could only get the thread, it would be/ is very, very clever! Sorry to let you down, Buddy... :( Battle of rich and poor? Overspending causing 'over-reaching', leading to 'pilfering' - in contrast to the leisure of the idle rich, pleasure-seeking and lazing around getting bronzed? Whatever... you are getting really good at concision and taut writing and I'm really frustrated not to get the thread. Think I'm losing it me marbles, sadly. xx

The Poppies are in the Fields. (Poetry) - 12/17/2013 9:25:28 AM
Powerful, Andy. Truly gut-wrenching. I believe that your forays into bringing us the life and death of your uncle will probably produce your very best work. So visual and presenting the contrasting and contrapuntal states of being in a voice devoid of emotion (almost) makes it all the more piercing. Timely and yet timeless. xx

The Poppies are in the Fields. (Poetry) - 12/16/2013 4:54:30 PM

Land For The Free (Poetry) - 12/6/2013 1:16:49 PM
Amazing, innit, that what we think will bring us perfect peace - security, prosperity and all the trappings of worldly success - then becomes what we fear losing and what we then have to work doubly hard to protect. Let's face it, self-interest is the root of all fear; we have nothing to fear if we have nothing to lose. And in losing ourselves we find our true selves. So simple yet so hard and so seemingly counter-intuitive. xx

Land For The Free (Poetry) - 12/4/2013 8:59:46 PM
hatred would certainly be unbecoming of us all, wouldn't it? ... fear thrives within liberty and then turns on itself ...

Soldier (Poetry) - 12/3/2013 7:02:29 PM
Wow....the moon with the soldier - very genuine partnership I really like it.

Peace Broke Out Today (Poetry) - 12/3/2013 6:45:28 PM
Politicians are rich everywhere in the world just because they beg a lot; begging with poor peoples.

Land For The Free (Poetry) - 12/2/2013 3:08:30 PM
A life of love, Of hatred, never Amen, Andy; succinct but point well made. Love and peace, Regis

Land For The Free (Poetry) - 12/1/2013 2:45:26 PM
Whether by erudition or experience or perhaps a bit of both, these few words sum up a just explanation as to shy our history has suffered bu its own malfeasance, whether socio-political of religious corruption --both on its many battle fields as well as pulpits. The operative word--fear--never ceased to adapt to fresh generations of sword bearers. Yet, as you suggest, one has a choice.

Blessed are the Rich (Poetry) - 11/30/2013 8:12:44 AM
strange when the poor sleep they dream of being rich ;)

Blessed are the Rich (Poetry) - 11/26/2013 12:43:52 PM
