I remember this blizzard, vividly - I've written a poem and an article about the "White Hurricane" - memorable in its intensity, ferocity and how long it took to dig out from under - well done, Sandy.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
Now I live in Texas, where the only things we get is drought, floods, tornadoes and hurricanes - but no blizzards. LOL

Powerful and heartwrenching write, Sandy; I don't know how you do it...you have had such tragedy and misfortune in your life; yet you go on. It is only by the Grace and Mercy of a Loving God that gets you through these awful times in your life; you are in my prayers now more than ever! Christmas 1992: Doug Is Missing (Short Story) - 12/5/2004 2:40:08 PM
This is very sad and like you I would find this very difficult to accept. I still remember what it was like to have to go with my sister to identify her husband. The question of why remains but I trust that you can somehow make peace with this. I offer my mother's prayers as well. God bless you.

Helen's Biscuits, Thanksgiving 1959 (Short Story) - 11/5/2004 9:47:45 AM
People don't realize what they say to their kids; words do hurt, and they CAN hurt for life. I know; I still live with the pain of what was said to me by my mother and grandmother years later! But I am a survivor, and you are too! Heartbreaking write!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :( >tears <
Helen's Biscuits, Thanksgiving 1959 (Short Story) - 11/4/2004 2:45:54 PM
Thank you so much for sharing your memories with us...it must have been hard having to be the "grown-up" and take care of your mother. I give you a lot of credit! The rest of the story, regarding Helen's biscuits, was sweet. :-) April

This is too funny, Sandra; but I guess it is different when you see your dinner living one minute, and the next, it is on the table, ready to be eaten. Kind of gives a whole new meaning to Thanksgiving, doesn't it? Wonderful write!

Refuge For The Soul (Short Story) - 5/5/2003 3:52:30 AM
This is a good write overall. Thank you for posting this -- though this is a genre I rarely touch into but I got pushed to many times to write in but I wrote horror as the direct backlash. Being that I lived near Wheaton College you could tell where I got really dark and really hardcore really fast.
Freak! (Article) - 4/1/2012 5:16:49 PM
Words like these are worse than lawn darts. You are a wonderful human being Sandy. Nobody has any business cutting into a child with that kind of pain. The same thing happened to me. The gal below says that once theyre written down they appear 'different'..'not so painful'. I beg to differ. We who have been ear marked with this sort of treatment still remember the sadness. You are the star of your sky now. And though love was lost early on--love found you a little later...and sparkles now in your saved child like soul.
Freak! (Article) - 2/7/2009 8:32:37 PM
Difficult to recollect such painful memories. I have many like these.
Once they're written down, though, they appear to be different, not so near, not so painful.

Sandra,
This was a real tear jerker. I don't know if it was about you or another, either way, it's just so sad. Maybe you can't have your Daddy, but he's in your heart. For a six year old, that doesn't mean much I suppose. Well written poem.

Monumental (Poetry) - 4/16/2009 7:40:13 AM
Yes, that's how it is. I often experience moments like that, and the fact that I'm still alive never ceases to perplex me. Life has no aim but itself.

Truly beautiful Sandra. God bless.
Love Held Him (Poetry) - 4/8/2009 5:22:48 PM
You wrote this poem with the perfect truth of why Jesus died on the Cross.
This is the truth of Redemption. Jesus Christ in all His Divinity and nature as God, humbled Himself to become man to shed His blood as the Living Sacrifice, pure and perfect, for the blood of bulls, and lambs, of even man, cannot pay the price for sin and open the way to heaven and to the Father. The Holy Spirit would not have come without His death. That is the mystery and it can be experienced by each one who comes to him and accepts His gift of new life.
Cynthia

Call Me Divine (Poetry) - 1/24/2009 5:25:48 AM
Oh, just perfect, after reading one very disturbing poem. I needed one that would exalt the Lord, and this was it. It is so comforting and inspiring to read His many titles and reflect on the aspects of His awesome character.
I have one question, though. Michael? I've never read of God being called Michael. Perhaps you're referring to Michael the archangel, who is referred to in a prayer in the Roman Catholic religion?
Anyhow, thanks for this morning inspiration.

Today, Yesterday, Tomorrow (Poetry) - 1/19/2009 11:13:03 AM
A great run on the time that we have here on earth. I certainly know you are going to Heaven, just by the writes and expressions you have. You are a true christian person, but I surely will pray for you anyway, for good health, for nice days and to take the pain away wen you have it come to you. I love your writes and consider you another of my good friends on the den. God Bless You Always
Moments In Time (Poetry) - 1/19/2009 11:08:46 AM
They say you get strength when something awful is happening to you. I do know it to be true.
Heaven Awaits (Poetry) - 1/19/2009 11:06:02 AM
I do know our loved ones wait at heaven's gate, at least I believe of it that they do. My hubby Tom said his last words, What is that? I know it was an angel he saw coming to guide him home and be with him in his journey to Heaven. That comforted me lots and I tend to forget and grieve some. I must find more faith somehow, and am trying. Poetry like this helps.
Twelve Yellow Roses (Poetry) - 1/19/2009 11:01:58 AM
A living bouquet of Life. You put it extremely well how they grow with each other and keep blooming one after the other. May we all bloom and grow with each other and pass the message of faith onto others as much as we can. This is such a terrific write.
Of A Butterfly (Poetry) - 1/19/2009 10:57:39 AM
I do know Tom came back to me as a blue and black butterfly the day of his service and styaed a while fluttering it's wings My sister in lw in NJ also has experienced butterfly coming back each spring to light on her grandson's shoulder. His dad died of ALs, We know those butterfly spirits are important to us.
Big, Sweet Yellow Rose (Poetry) - 1/19/2009 10:52:29 AM
So neat a write. I know death is hard and I thank you for the review on my pooms about death too. We have to just trust that God knows the time when he wants our loved ones to go be with him. That is surely my thinking about death. I love yellow roses and they are my favorites too.
Manipulative (Poetry) - 1/19/2009 10:50:28 AM
Beautiful picture painting. Love it. I know noone should let others manipulate them, but I sometimes do and I even know they are doing it. I am a follower, not a leader. That is why people can get to me and I do some of the things they minipulatre me to do. I hate when I am weak and not strong. Your write tells me to lean on Jesus and he will pull me through the hard times. I know that to be true.
Running on Empy (Poetry) - 1/19/2009 10:48:05 AM
I am so glad I looked into your site. You are a great christian writer and have so many good poems on the den. I do not know absolutely how to review some of them. I just know that professing about the savior and tending to pass God's words on is the right thing for these days.
Get Hooked (Poetry) - 1/19/2009 10:46:25 AM
I have been thinking a lot about the antichrist lately. I know what th bible says about him I just wonder if he is in the world today or yet to come. I hear it either way from people etc. I am ready for the ending of the world cause I know my savior too. Times are getting so bad, I don't know who much longer they can exist this way. I guess God's plan will out in the end though. I am ready and do read my bible every day. Hate to be so blunt, but this is what is on my mind at nights when I cannot sleep.
