Too Many Tears (Book) - 2/5/2004 4:57:50 PM
Very good book! Loved every page from beginning to end and constantly get hooked right back into it any time I read a portion of it. It doesn't matter how many times I read it, it never gets boring! I constantly find new things in it and have new thoughts on the characters and who they really are. I get hooked in very few authors but I'll be eternally hooked on this one!
Too Many Tears (Book) - 9/16/2003 2:56:54 PM
Too Many Tears is a captivating story. It is well written and a page-turner from the very beginning. Set during the early 1600's, it is a touching story of a little girl abandoned by her parents in the colonies.
At the age of 5, Alisha finds herself not only blind, but also left alone. She embarks on her own journey for survival. She meets a kind gentleman, Dimetre. He takes her into his life and home and provides for her. Life is not easy in the early colonies, but add blindness and abandonment to the mix and it provides a heart wrenching story. I enjoyed the well-created characters that worked their way into my heart.
I would recommend this book for readers looking for a creative new take on early American life. I hated to see this book come to an end; I would have liked to follow Alisha and Dimetre's life for a while longer.

Fairy Tales (Poetry) - 5/8/2006 11:13:13 PM
Powerful write. I like the thought wave through this.
Just Write! (Poetry) - 4/23/2006 8:21:50 AM
Very true of writers. I had a friend who was always editing her first rough drafts as she wrote them, and couldn't get much down on the page. I told her to 'free fall' and edit nothing. Write like she was the only one who would ever read it. Then...after a few days, edit. She's been writing like crazy and had a wonderful article published in a fairly large newspaper! So...loosen up those grammar grundies and let it just flow...
Just Write! (Poetry) - 4/23/2006 8:15:04 AM
I think it happened eventually Robin, gotta to agree, just think your feel and get it down.
Paul;-)
Just Write! (Poetry) - 4/23/2006 8:10:49 AM
I know the feeling! It can be so hard to just write it down. Your mind races and before you can get to pen and paper or a computer the words are "poof" just gone...I get frustrated when I have lines running through my head that don't make sense but I write them down anyways and when I look back I have about 3 different incomplete poems written down! And then of course I never fnish them cause they get lost or the calico chews them up :)
Keep writing! I love when you surprise me with a poem!
Just Write! (Poetry) - 4/23/2006 7:58:57 AM
“Fix it later
Just write your thoughts”
I believe that's the best advice for any writer, Robin.
Just Write! (Poetry) - 4/23/2006 7:39:33 AM
We live in poetry and stories everyday. Just write, and fix it up later! That's what I always do.

Just Write! (Poetry) - 4/23/2006 7:38:47 AM
When the Muse grips your fingers and your pen starts to flow....
I love the light flow of your words as the mind unlocks it's spirit for the Muse to answer through your pen.

Talking to the Dead (Poetry) - 1/12/2006 1:30:47 PM
As one who sometimes sees her dead cousin in her dreams, I'm certainly not one to judge talking to the dead...
Talking to the Dead (Poetry) - 1/12/2006 7:27:52 AM
What a sweet nostalgic write, Robin. At the end of it, I had a smile on my face - i talk to the dead too, especially my cousin sister whom I still don't believe to have gone - I think we all do talk to them, asking them questions and guidance.
God bless, Robin!
Sandie.
