The Lustful Destroyer (Book) - 9/10/2007 4:03:05 PM
I want you to understand clearly that God loves you and wants you to be whole. Having said that, I think from the bio that you wrote about yourself and from this and other things that you wrote, you have a problem. It is called a spirit of prostitution and it has torn you from the family and happiness that you need. I can give you a website to visit if you are interested in being free. Type christianword.org. They have free prayer books to read out loud. These prayers in the book are so long and thorough that you cannot possibly say it without just reading what is said but try it. God bless you. Only Jesus can set you free. All others are quacks.

O.k.-O.k.-O.K.-What happen from there: Wonderfully written, elequently spoken and felt! I saw my life in 2 of your chapters Donn. Glad this character got out of that miserable life of lessons in 1 piece. I know I will be reading on, some words you use catch me by surprise and I wish I could write that way. YOur great and Thanks again for a great read... It took me almost a total of 6 hrs to read. I had to stop and go back in the same evening. I met a gentle-man online and we are still happy and together after 3 yrs. To take your next chapter to online service of dating was another surprise. Still wondering how the couple went on with their lives after they met? Truly an Excellent piece of Art and life endured Once again. HuGs,Sheee

midly-erotic? It bursts of erotic...
Great write Donni-Jay. Love the story. And your photo even more. Unbelievable - the way you look. Brings back some sort of hope that life is not over once you have crossed the magic 40 !
Hope you are doing well. Haven't been around alot lately - too much work and stress. But will try to read again regularly - especially your work.

Ching the Big Tiny Dog! (R.I.P.) 1/3/05 (Short Story) - 7/10/2006 4:44:32 AM
Donni-Jay,
Your heart in this write astounds me. Ching sounds like she was one of a kind, which reminds me of my dog who died in late 2000, whose final act was of love, to an elderly lady.
Take Care,
Charles D. O'Connor III- Check out my new and controversial story "The Curiosity shop"- many like it, only a few people don't and those people have brutally attacked it but take your true opinion on it. I know it needs editing but I have found an editor as we speak.
Ching the Big Tiny Dog! (R.I.P.) 1/3/05 (Short Story) - 12/10/2005 8:42:50 AM
Beautiful tribute to a special little dog with a gigantic heart! Well done, Donni-Jay; she will surely be missed, but this tribute to a pet is about as good as any I have seen! God bless you, dear heart, and Merry Christmas and a Happy, HEALTHY New Year to you and yours!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D
Ching reminds me a lot of "Bert", a little solid black Pomeranian that lives a few streets up from us, but "Bert", unlike your "Ching", is a mean little thing. He had been abused, so I don't blame him for his surly nature! Still, he IS a cutie, and I can't help but to laugh whenever he barks and growls at me every time I go by!

I do believe in love at first sight! And I do believe also that it may not last long. Both of the spirits have to learn to grow together. Or the lust will be all they have, until that wears off eventually. -- Donn- from your words- TRue True True! Experiences is what helps grow the bond between Two and ofcourse Trust most of all. True Love takes time- I do know this well too and I'm 45yrs. Young... Body-Mind-and SouL- Some guys are like Bees to honey-Don't any repel? Take the time for some of you out there, and find an interest and start there 1st-Friendship will follow and who knows what else- Hold your head high and let your Confidence show through is all you can do. Poet or Writer? (Article) - 4/19/2005 1:35:17 PM
Debbie *( I super Apoligize- I'm new at sharing my feelings here in AD- I will become a Member soon,I feel it) but.. I had to copy and paste this in, in regards to -Poet or Writer- by Donni- When YOu Debbie mentioned--->being frustrated about the way a poem could be/is written. I see it also as, When it's written too simple- as I have some of my poems written, cuz- it was the way I felt that day- I feel it can loose someones interest as they read it.. cuz- it wasn't elequently spoken- I hope I didn't step on toes here.. but, I felt strongly how you felt too in your article to D- *( which is below) I wonder is being detail-Oriented has anything to do with it- or someone reading a poem who is ADD- could find it boring and just need to read something more with depth... I Wonder- but, writing from the Heart is where it's at- and that can NoT be wrong. Is my feelings also. Debbie - Thanks for helping me -get my emotions pumping on writing styles! :) and Donn- Thanks! 4 the Topic at hand. YOu make some of us think HARD, and Thinking is Creativity. Sheee
Though, there are many great poets here at AD, and I do mean great, many, tend to go over my head. Though I enjoy the flow, the rhythm and beat of many of the poems, many times the meaning of the poem is beyond me and I find myself becoming frustrated while reading it. So much so that, reluctantly, I will discontinue reading the poem and move on. This is not to say the poetry isn't good, because I know it is, it's not to my taste. And that's what writing is all about. Everyone has their own tastes and styles of writing. I'm one of those annoying people who always look for the positive slant on everything and always try to find something good to say about anything (doesn't always happen, but I try). I don't believe in critiquing badly anyone's style of writing. They have put a lot of effort into it as well as a lot of themselves. This to me, means the most, that and the fact that they've chosen to share their work with us, is in itself an honor.
Debbie

I just have to hope that people will see my book when it is on the shelf for sale, so that it can serve its purpose and help those who have suffered, or who are still suffering. I can see no other purpose for my having lived such a life, if it isn't to be able to help others get through theirs! Donni-- I'm Sheee - I've written to you a few times, but.. If you may- let me speak for others, Not writing reviews to others. The reason could be time- Time is of the Essense and they could of bookmarked you and then, forgotten... Keep up what you do and feel and your magic will rub off to the one it is meant for. Right now- I feel like it's Me... Sorry, to put it so bluntly... but - let me tell you.. Parts of your Saddest and Challenging parts of your life.. was mine- and I could feel your tears as you try to express your strength to just go on! Another thing I would like to mention.. is, Since your Such an Excellent Artist.. Why -? would you want any comments from others.. I believe in Constructive Critism too, it's Really Important... but, some - may not want to hurt your feelings by writing something mundane or trifle... I always speak from my heart and I feel that is the most important way to go through life with Everyone... To have others like you is GReat- but, yOU have to like yourself and Have Faith in yourself.. and I learned that the hard way...What are you doing as of today? I would love to know.. your newest accomplishments, and How are your children? Did they come around? I wrote alot and I hope you or anyone hasn't minded but, I felt it important to shareeeeeee.... Have a GREAT DAy! WEek and MOnth... Lady,Sheee *(Sheila G)

Miss D- Or Mrs. by now, I hope 4 YOU... YOu sounded so sad- I will attempt to tell you what I felt by reading your VEry LOng and Interesting Bio- and I had no tea, I love green tea- but, I was Intrigued immensely... I love to write but, you have a different style- a NO Holds Barred kind of feeling- I like that alot... True-Honest and full of depth- Thank you 4 being So Honest.. My life w/ a children started at 20 too and I married an Alcoholic - who I married 2Xs, thinking he would change and live life -REaL- but, his emOtions became a dry drunk- No emotions.... Another life of twists and turns and a hurtful childhood -that strenthened me... Thanks for allowing us to peek into Your feelings of the heart and SouL... YOur in my Favorites and I hOpe True Love and the light of Happiness found you and will stay with you. YOur sweet and Honest- I will read more later. Lady,Sheee OXO.... Hope you don't mind. Poet or Writer? (Article) - 12/5/2004 4:05:23 PM
Poetry does indeed have a history, a definition, and guidelines that distinguish it from prose. The two words are frequently misused here at AuthorsDen. Sometimes writers who prefer rhyme come upon free and blank verse and call it prose when reviewing it because they miss all the other attributes of the piece that place it squarely in the poetry category. At other times people write pieces that have no rhythm, rhyme, literary devices, or flow, but they line it up in verse form and people applaud it as poetry. Well, it's not. Yes, poetry often makes us feel, but there are some excellent poets who simply make us think. It's not all about feelings. Nevertheless, since so many writers here write for fun, emotional, or socialization reasons and do not aspire to the writing profession, why argue about it? Life's too short. Those who want to hone their craft will figure it out, and those who are just having fun will continue to do as they please or feel.

Donni, people generally won't read and review longer works these days. For some reason that seems to be more so on this site. I don't know why. But I do know that sometimes a writer's style, no matter how compelling the story, can turn readers away. A good editor can help when this is the problem. I'm not saying that's your case. I haven't read your chapters. Anyhow, often people will read and read, like what they read, but are still too lazy or sometimes just too distracted to comment.
I'm surprised sometimes by the people who will pop up and comment on my Den and say that they've been following me for months, but that will be the first I've heard from them. Be encouraged.

I am sorry more people aren't paying attention to you, Donni. I have read your articles about your life, and I am sorry if I haven't commented as regularly as I should; forgive me? Still, your story deserves (and needs) to be told, and I am glad you shared it with us here. Good luck with the book; that's more than I have right now! I have over 1,400 stories, but no book! so you have me beat there! maybe one day i will have a book of my own.....*sigh* i can only dream and keep writing and hope for the best....

Donni-Jay: Sweets, the same exact thing is happening to me. I'm writing about my disastrous life right now. Very few people are commenting, but lots are reading. I suspect whoever is reading doesn't want me to know who they are, because the way I see it, almost EVERYONE is screwed up. Just be thankful people are reading, because that probably means you are helping and inspiring people to help themselves. I appreciate your rant--I'm experiencing the same thing right now.

Hi Donni:
I think we are all subjected to this treatment at one time or another, and yes, it does hurt our feelings a lot, especially when we think most people are or once have been our friend(s).
Don't lose your faith, put your book on the shelves in the bookstore, I'm sure a lot of people are going to read it. Sometimes it is always better to hold a book in hand to read than to read that from a computer screen.
Good luck with all your future endeavours!

I do read you Donni as you know...but have been attacked and judged badly by people here on AD...and I just felt that by not showing my "FACE" MIGHT CALM THE WATERS"
But the battle is still on... I am losing faith in those I thought were my so called friends....that turned out to be backstabbers instead!!
Even false E-mails with my name attached to it is going around and I have no Idea Who this impersonater of my ID is!!
Take care... and best regards to Rev Davey!!

Poet or Writer? (Article) - 11/7/2004 2:00:51 AM
In a way I agree with the point you were trying to get across. First, I don't call myself a poet or novelist or any of the other title people give themselves, I'm just a writer. I write b/c I love the written word and the feelings expressed through them. That said, when I first came to AD I began with reading and writng only poetry. I now, almost always write essays, articles and short stories. I'm finding I'm enjoying this as much if not more than writing poetry (though my first book, due out the beginning of next year) has quite a lot of poetry in it, the essays I was able to just expound my thoughts and feelings in.
Though, there are many great poets here at AD, and I do mean great, many, tend to go over my head. Though I enjoy the flow, the rhythm and beat of many of the poems, many times the meaning of the poem is beyond me and I find myself becoming frustrated while reading it.
