Hi Fee! This sounds like a fascinating idea, as your crazy neighbor to the south still has all its imperial delusions intact. :( Is it present or past time? Have you seen H20 or The Trojan Horse? (Those are probably dumb questions to ask a Canadian--but I was really impressed by both stories.)

Felix, thank you for the visit to the coffee hole as it were - you are an astute observer and read the crowd very well - in every Starbucks or local "Robinson's House of Exotic Coffee Blends" the crowds appear to be of the same personality type cross sections - you described them to a tee - I wish you love and peace my dear friend - Jon Michael

Three For A Dime (Short Story) - 7/28/2009 11:01:15 PM
This is great reading. You brought me back in time to your childhood. I started with 2 cigs a day when I was 17. I quit the day of my back surgery - exactly a year ago today - July 29, 2008. I had one that morn before going in and never picked up one again. I like being able to breathe first thing in the morning, without coughing! And I don't miss burning my arm or leg with a wayward ash. Saving money, too. I enjoyed this story. Strange that I should click on it today of all days. Hugs,
Poppy's Tree House (Short Story) - 1/15/2009 5:37:03 AM

The Asylum (Short Story) - 8/21/2008 11:35:48 AM
A great short story, Fee. This is a topic I'm very passionate about. I've written a series of novels about a female assassin who preys on sex abusers. The first one is due out shortly. Back to your story...it took me a minute to realize you were using the female perspective. A brave and creative move, my friend! Your descriptions here are original, haunting, and creative. Love the irony at the end...he should have read her history...lol! Justice has been served...al dente. Love and Hugs,

Three For A Dime (Short Story) - 4/22/2008 12:10:43 PM
This sure does bring back memories. I am still a smoker, but with that being said I am not a heavy smoker or smoke for the habit of it. I can truly say I smoke for the enjoyment. I smoke maybe 4 or 5 cigarettes a day - don't need one as soon as I get up - don't need one right after I eat, don't need one with liquor or after sex. I just sit back and relax at work or in the evening and have a puff or two. Thanks for the memory lane trip.

I can feel the steam positively rising off those damp clothes now, Felix! Beautiful, lilting verses which give more than a caffeine lift to perk up the chilly heart and clear a foggy mind, lending music to those dancing fingers. One of your best atmospheric captures, I reckon - and there's been a few great ones! Love this! xx

Maritime Poet's Song (Poetry) - 9/21/2012 2:10:57 PM
Aw, It' never too late for coffee, man! You made me almost get a chill as I read your words which absolutely put me there at at the water's edge. I LOVE this line, "Little beads of rain like a xylophone play. "Yes! Yes! Yes! This reminds me of the times I was in San Francisco and the chill coming off the bay. You know the bay, the one that cat was sitting on . . . Heehee . . . Gotta love it and this poem . . .

A Heady Brew (Poetry) - 9/21/2012 12:17:30 AM
Mother Nature had you surrounded with all she had to offer. Sounds, sights, and the feeling of being embraced by She herself!
Choices (Poetry) - 9/20/2012 8:19:00 PM
These attributes are so human. I like the treatment of choosing to and choosing not to, especially "imagined wrongs" (that is an attention-getting two words!) and "misconstrued truth" (goes tandum with "imagined wrongs"). On the opposing end of that measuring stick, what a great coupling "wait's anticipation." Enjoyed reading "Choices." Thank you. ~~ Diana
Warmth (Poetry) - 9/20/2012 3:43:48 PM

Beautiful scenes of bedtime warmed with love and bedtime stories.
Warmth (Poetry) - 9/19/2012 2:34:41 AM
Beautifully written song of Fall, Felix. Mixing the weather and its by products the colorful leaves, nude trees shivering, and, at the end, cuddling to make things alright.

Choices (Poetry) - 9/15/2012 1:08:33 PM
Yeah. Uh huh. No matter what we choose sometimes it is what we "feel" and "think" which is paramount to our happiness or heartbreak. I'm in a similar situation. I know what my mind tells me to feel and think about it, but my heart go right along doing what it wants with no regard to my thoughts.

Contrast (Poetry) - 7/11/2012 4:17:17 PM
No wonder there are so many comments to this writing. Its very brevity is its substance. I truly appreciate this piece, all of it. There is hugeness to the concepts of: "divided but not apart" "....sins undefined" (that one is loaded with layers upon layers); and "heart purgatory," is about the best way I've ever seen heartache written down for the reading. "pretending to breathe" carries an essence of suffocation that can be felt just looking at those three words. Immaculate poetry in my eyes, Fee. ~~ Diana
