Abuse no more (Short Story) - 5/30/2007 6:24:52 AM
Great write Aleja, it touches my heart and I am sure the heart of many. Coming from an abusive home myself I can certainly relate to it. And yes we can't hold it inside forever, to heal we have to release it and become stronger for it. Only then can we help others.
God Bless you.

Abuse no more (Short Story) - 5/29/2007 11:28:40 PM
Some of us that are wearing the domestic wars scars can comprehend you, others...will shake their heads at the enormity that their comprehension cannot grasp.
Abuse was swept under the carpet, nobody wanted to know.
Occasionally you would heard of a drunken father, and that was all the extent of the abuse.
The world has rolled something since then, yet the abusers still here.
Good piece.
Georg

Aleja,
As I stated in my other review, I am happy for you and was also addicted to the drug alcohol (the authories have "finally" placed alcohol in the correct category).
I'm free now for 5 years and my writings--just as yours--help others.
Blessings,
George

Oh I am so sorry you went through all this. I am also adopted and was abused but sounds like what you went through was different wont say worse cause any kind of abuse is bad my heart goes out to you. I also went through AA seems we have a lot in common. I ended up finding my birth mother in 2005 she also went to AA. It has been a blessing. You touched my heart thanks for sharing your story I know it is not easy. Writing and sharing is healing even though it is painful it is also healing. Thanks for sharing your story it will help many people.

A very well written - infact very well expressed story! If you write what you feel, you experience, the reality, the truth... it is sure going to touch the hearts, as it did to me...

This kind of stuff makes me think of that song by Martina Mcbride called 'Concrete Angel'that song always makes me cry. It's always nice to see someone willing to show the world there is love today.

The real reason why I wrote ONLY THE STRONG CAN SURVIVE (Short Story) - 2/21/2007 9:14:22 AM
Hello Aleja,
This hits home so closely, my siblings and I also lived in an abusive home. There were eight of us, four boys and four girls.
The eldest took the worst kind of abuse, the younger ones suffered mostly the mental abuse, at the hands of the one person they should have been able to depend upon to protect them. The one person that helped us survive was our beautiful mother. The strength in our lives. She tried to take all our pain and protect us. She was surely an angel sent to us from above. And yes we have to forgive in order to heal. But we will never forget. God Bless you and protect you always. Lina
Why Me? (Short Story) - 2/21/2007 8:59:11 AM
It is never an easy thing to have one's life as an open book for all to see. The only way we can know - not feel, we can never do this - someone else's pain is for the sufferer to wear their heart on his or her sleeve. By doing so, a potentially therapuetic benefit is imparted to someone else in the same sad situation.
You're a courageous woman, Aleja
Regards
Dai

An Apology (Short Story) - 2/14/2007 5:42:52 AM
The apologies to my own children after I learned even the bit of trials I carried over to them compared to my own life, was such a healing to each of us. I honor you for the courage it takes to face our past and bring light to those who have their darkness now. Best of luck in your life now. Lady J

Time-Where does it go? (Poetry) - 5/16/2008 3:12:08 AM
sO SORRY FOR WHAT ALL YOU WENT THROUGH OVER THE YEAR. fINALLY HAPPINESS AND TRUE LOVE WERE FOUND AND SOME OF YOURS BROUGHT BACK TO YOU. YOU SOUND LIKE A CARING PERSON AND DID NOT DESERVE ALL THAT THE PAST BROUGHT ABOUT FOR YOU AND ON YOU. some in this world have to bear more than others, I don't know why. Glad it turned out alright for you and keep your true love always now.
Survivor (Poetry) - 4/25/2008 6:09:01 AM
I can hear that Destiny Child song, "Survivor" in the background of this stand up piece. I love this line, "This kind of behavior is not sweet, but see I refuse to let history repeat!" Now that's fearless and something we should all strive for. Not to repeat the past but eat it up like some cornbread. Chew it around to get a taste of our weakness. Then swallow it for what it is so we can digest it and make ourselves stronger. Keep on surviving Sista Bennett!

Abuse no More (Poetry) - 6/4/2007 8:34:24 PM
OMG sister! This such a revealing poem of release that I have read in a very long time. I agree that we who have been sorely abused by those who thought they had the upper hand then, should help others by revealing our past, and what we have done to get on with our lives, and not live in torment, so others coming after us and that are with us now, can get the strength to go on, to fight back, to hold the hand of the Lord. You have said a lot sister, in these few lines.
My words to those who have been abused in any way, are:
Stay strong, because it is in our strength that we can heal.
May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and may He also bless those who are hurting still from all of the abuse. May the Lord Jesus be with you always, and at your side contantly, and may He hold you up, so you can be proud of who you are. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your sister, Barbie
