Do Not Look Directly Into Me (Book) - 7/20/2001 4:44:06 PM
This is perhaps the best collection of short stories I have ever read. The characters are believable and human, and the stories are well thoughtout. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

Men . ....... (Short Story) - 10/3/2001 2:38:12 PM
I'm a sucker for this contemporary short fiction. Much in the style of Larry Brown, Carver, and not so much Bukowski, Crocker draws you into his characters. When you try to leave, he won't let you. In this tale you are the guest that sits uncomfortable and wants to leave the setting...but you are Trapped. The story ends in resolve, something that is not done easily. Bravo! The full twenty-three stories will read like a fun weekend in Jersey City. I enjoyed this very much.

Working Ward 101 (Poetry) - 12/27/2004 10:01:55 AM
It's good to read your work again. I moved so far away from the small press stuff into commercial writing. I did my first morning news program today. My poetry has lost its fire, it is good to see that yours still shines. Working Ward 101 was a fine read. 101 is where I work.

I spent most of the time here studying your bio and then the poem and then the bio.
I guess it is very late and I am sleepy. I will have to take another look at you. Bill Murray

Hauntingly emotional piece. I adore this:
"...It occurs to me
as suddenly as one dies violently in a car
how much my daughter looks like my brother
Deep eyes the color of fertilized mud
and a tangle of curly hair.
She doesn’t even know him
She’s part of something I’ve never
bothered to explain to her
The name Richie means nothing
If she’s ever noticed his picture at grandpa’s
she hasn’t mentioned it."
Those two stanzas will linger in my mind all night.
Where We Come From (Poetry) - 11/27/2002 5:22:22 PM
This is a well told narrative. And it sounds so real! You are a good story teller and it held my interest from start to finish. Glad to have met you here. Bill
Black Squirrel (Poetry) - 11/14/2002 9:29:03 AM
Yes, yes, yes, and all that. Maybe even, "it is so". But the eternal question goes unanswered: "How did they get black?" Not a felching reference. But a poem about giving and getting.
Black Squirrel (Poetry) - 10/28/2002 8:16:13 AM
Hey, thanks for the comments guys. Yeah, black squirrels are common in MI. We have them in Grayling; I'm not sure how close that is to Quincy.
