The Thinking Cow (Book) - 3/2/2009 4:42:44 PM
What a innovative idea. I love that you can write your comments on the blank pages at end of each chapter. It's a good book for discussion. I notice that when discussing the book and the morals of the stories, other subjects and topics will come up.

CRYING MOUNTAIN - Crazy Hurricane (Second Edition with foreword by Author) (Book) - 10/30/2008 5:38:46 PM
Great book. It made me appreciate the things I have. It's so inspiring to see a young 8 year old child in poverty stricken Haiti to have such faith and a positive outlook, even during a major hurricane. The book is compelling and inspiring. I couldn't put it down.

My First Sin (Book) - 8/20/2008 5:39:00 PM
To loosely paraphrase a forbidden song from my youth: If reading My First Sin is wrong ... none of us should want to be right.

My First Sin (Book) - 8/5/2008 4:50:31 PM
Once I started reading My First Sin, I couldn't put it down! I had to find out what happened to this saintly little girl, Tilou. I would love to meet her! After reading I thought "Wow, what if everyone in the world was like Tilou?" Her ability to remain optimistic and brave in any situation, and her determination to enjoy life as much as possible is an inspiration to me. Tilou lives life from her heart. Reading about her journey has given me strength to face the challenges in my own life. I find myself now asking, "What would Tilou do?" when I am faced with a difficult choice. Knowing her experience has also helped me put my own into perspective. I thought I was stressed out trying to figure out how to pay the bills every month and be there for my family and friends- but Tilou manages to survive storms, fires, betrayal and extreme ignorance all with a smile and an open heart for all. Tilou and her creator, Lili Dauphin, have now been added to my list of heroes.
I Will Fly Again: The Restavek (Book) - 4/29/2008 4:14:22 PM
I Will Fly Again - the Restavek, is the compelling true story of a impoverished young girl enslaved by her family. Young Tilou uses a wisdom and strength that is rarely found in children and rarely found in adults. She used these tools to survive. Such a compelling story that will leave you wanting to read more. I hated to putthe book down.
If you want a sampling of that wisdom, read Lili's books of poetry--The Dancing Flowers and Betrayal in a Nutshell.
The Dancing Flowers (Book) - 4/29/2008 4:08:37 PM
A wonderful book that will lift your spirits. The title Dancing Flowers not only refers to flowers in nature, but to our souls and spirits. Everyone can be the dancing flower. Everyone has a soul, waiting to be uplifted and come alive. The dancing flower is inside of us. This is the perfect companion book to Lili's other book which was relased at same time as Dancing Flowers--"Betrayal in a Nutshell".
Betrayal in a Nutshell (Book) - 4/29/2008 4:04:12 PM
Betrayal in a Nutshell is just that--betrayal in a nutshell. Everyone has been betrayed, has had their heart broken. This book will help ease the pain. It shows us to never forget the beauty, greatness and goodness that resides in us. Lili's "The Dancing Flowers" is the perfect companion to Betrayal in a Nutshell. Dancing Flowers is flled with positive affirmations to help you overcome pain from a broken heart and betrayal.
CRYING MOUNTAIN - Crazy Hurricane (Second Edition with foreword by Author) (Book) - 2/1/2007 10:29:48 PM
I just finished the book. I love the story, how it is told through the eyes of a beautiful 8 year old girl that is so innocent, loving and caring and always happy and making people smile. It made me laugh, it made me cry. I loved how she becomes a celebrity in the village of Tiville through her writing. I like Moun the dog, he's a great hero and I loved how he gets rewarded. I loved Claire for being so sweet. I was filled with every emotion while reading this story.

MR. DOG AND HONESTY (Short Story) - 8/26/2009 6:45:46 PM
Hi, lili! I found your review of my doggie-poem, so it was only fitting that I read your own doggie story.
Mr. Dog is very wise indeed, and this short-short was enjoyable for me. I have a feeling everything will turn out all right for the Dog Family!

A small Conversation (Short Story) - 7/17/2009 3:46:42 PM
Lili I found A Small Converstion very interesting
because that is just how God works in our lives
when you are at your lowest, and you do not know
where to go, or who to talk to God always places
someone in your path to help you. May the Lord
bless you for being there in such a time of need.
Love And Prayers
Always!!

LITTLE DOVE AND MAMA PIGEON (Short Story) - 5/15/2009 9:49:01 PM
This story made me sad...I see the affects of this attitude in some of my adopted children...feeling as though they could only trust/rely on themselves...and me...trying to teach them that love is a two way street, as is trust, as is any relationship really...but them...being afraid to let go of the one truth they know...never realizing what they are truly missing out on...
Sorry...I know the story wasn't intended to make the readers sad...and there is some truth in what is said...unfortunately, it hit upon a problem I wish I could rectify and I can't...that mama bear instinct in me I guess...hee, hee...

Mr. Moose, Mr. Lion, Mr. Wolfe and Mr. Tiger (Short Story) - 5/11/2009 8:59:49 AM
Where is Mr. Tiger in all of this? Is he sitting back and feeding the fire, while really watching Mr. Moose? Is he going to sneak out with Mr. Moose and change his alliance? Makes me think...and question... and makes me relate others in my life to these characters... hee, hee...

All Good Deeds Go Around (Short Story) - 3/9/2009 10:28:11 AM
Thank you for sharing this story. Your description of playing in the rain as a child reminded me of my visits to Haiti when I would stand in the drenching rain and take pleasure in it as we watched everything be swept clean. There is nothing like the rain in Haiti...
The remainder of your story touched my heart. I believe the Lord blesses special people, like you, with empathy so that they might proverbially walk a mile in someone else's shoes and by doing so, help others (such as your readers) to open their eyes to the needs of others...whether seen or unseen.

Crying Mountain by Lili Dauphin (Article) - 4/29/2008 4:22:12 PM
I loved Crying Mountain. A wonderful story of a young girl who has a wisdom and courage I have never heard of for an 8 year old. Crying Mountain runs the gamut of all emotions--laughter, sadness, anger, joy. I love Lili's writing. She really appeals to your senses. This book is a must read. I was very inspired by this book. It made me look at my own life and realize things could be worse.

The daily salad recipe (Poetry) - 10/24/2009 9:26:08 AM

The daily salad recipe (Poetry) - 10/19/2009 5:57:43 AM
If all of us consumed and served this daily what a different world we would live in.
(I must say that I think the patience should be cut in thick slabs rather than thinly though... otherwise there is too great a chance of the patience wearing thin and impatience breaking through... :~) )

We all have a purpose (Poetry) - 10/12/2009 2:54:37 PM
I would add that just because we find our purpose, it doesn't mean that following our purpose will be the easy path...often times it is fraught with difficulty and pain, but... in the end, it will be worth it.
