Woven in the Blood. novel excerpt from work by Lisa Parsons (Short Story) - 3/14/2008 1:55:24 PM
I like it. I'd like to read the end result when you get it finished. I really would, but I think (I'm probably way wrong about this), I'd open with a little more excitement. Where you write that the boss is an SOB, that he is terrible, would it be more interesting to say what it is that is terrible, I mean instead of saying he's terrible. I'm certainly no one to give advice, but that's just the feeling I got when I started reading it. But it's very, very good, as good as any novel beginning, and I hope to read more. Mike Gibbs

This Horizon. Portland gallery shows work by painter Kathleen Simpson. (Article) - 3/21/2009 2:59:31 PM
Hello hello, Oops, I have to make one correction in this wonderful article to give credit where it's due-it wasn't me who pioneered the Women Making History Mural, it was Robin Corbo. I was hired by Robin as one of 4 staff painters, so I did work on it in its entirety and loved every minute of it but Robin was its creator, designer, grant recipient, backbone. I just didn't feel right not keeping the cred in her court. Thanks!

Splending imagery. This takes the reader on your painted journey. -- Jeff

A contrast here from neo-modern couch to the straw and hay from your farm, that melds into a familiar intimacy. Lovely. Liz

Grand imaginary writing coming from you. Profound in wording and deeply moving and makes you think some.

Whaaaaaaa! A mystery unraveled here? I would have never guessed that about Old Ginsberg...but, then again, I never had the dubious honor of hearing him in person, either. Perhaps that was fortunate for me, huh? This is a potent message, Lisa, powerful words.

Images of war should not exist. They only bring shame that lasts for generations. It takes a second to bomb a city, it takes a century or more to face the consequences. Your thought-provoking lines triggered this kind of reflection in my mind. Axilea

I like this kind of verse, it's the type you can study for hours on end and keep coming up with different meanings... well done...thoughts to ponder... wishing you well. Sam

Rare Bones (Poetry) - 8/28/2007 6:43:24 PM
Your poem speaks a lot of truths here. About the "male" world. Searching for ones self is dangerous even when you know your mother and father let alone in your case where you don't. Your writing is thought provoking and interesting. Keep on. Liz
