Dear Diary From Angel (Short Story) - 8/12/2007 5:19:13 PM
April,
Very well written. You know that you could do more w/ subjects as these... Not only can you tell a great story, make you feel the character's pain, but I'm sure there are many out there whom can relate.

My heart went out to Angel...I just wanted to take her in my arms and tell her it was going to be ok.
Wishing the story was longer but...then it is an Short Story so I'll just have to imagine more!

It's not the way I thought it would end. It held my attention though and that's a sign of a good writer.
Peace & Blessings,

Memories (Poetry) - 12/7/2008 9:38:27 AM
Memories of loved ones do linger on, and mine comes to me in dreams most nights too. Lookng out at the ocean is my favorite thing, it is made by God just as my lost hubby was made by God and taken to be with him there. I shall be with him in Padise when God wants me too. Good thinking here and putting it to words makes it real to me.

Bravo, April! I am colorblind, too. I love all colors God put in the world. Character is what defines a person, not color. And don't we all have the same color of life in our bloodstreams? Red? Great awareness write, April.

What I like most about your style, you tell the story of the realities around us; you speak what can't be spoken, or dare to be spoken.
I like that.
Look forward to reading more

Never Alone (Poetry) - 7/25/2008 9:04:02 AM
I look across the ocean, dream of crossing it to England, leave all my troubles and worries behind. Cannot imagine God made such a great ocean of water. So peaceful the ocean is to me. Wish I could go near it more and enjoy it more.

Hello April, I read your poem,"I Am Not My Complexion". I found it so true to the way some people act. As I am a Metis person I have treated ,at times, like a an alien creature just because of the color of my skin. Fortunatly my Ma told me; when I was a child, to 'ignore the ignorant'. Keep up the good work. Please feel free to visit my site here in the"Den"

Puff . . . Puff . . . Pass (Poetry) - 1/21/2008 7:49:49 PM
My sister, I know first hand of the addiction that held and holds me on occasion captive. Writing has helped in so many ways and I hope that the ones fighting this disease read your words..They are filled with God..

I have had this thought within my mind rolling around trying to escape, it just so happens that today you have ...or rather I have...found the very things I was wondering about. Funny how you go through life and fifty or so yrs later....not that we are old...just wiser...we find ourselves placing thought and reflecting upon the outer layer of our character.
Maybe within the future generations this thought can be dilluted enough to where light brown is the only reality.
nice work, April...

This is tragic! Makes you wonder what really and truly goes through people's minds as they do something so unspeakable. It made me cry and angry. How? Why? Arrrgh!

Your poem broke my heart. Unfortunately, not all parents have the best interest of their children at heart. Bravo for you standing up for the little lost souls. Excellent. Liz

A poignant story, April. You are following the course of a worthy cause in speaking out against child abuse. Bless you.

It saddened me to read this, April.
Growing up I had my share of whuppins but like Edwin, they were well deserved and never worse than nessesary.

We must do everything we can to stop the abuse...painfully penned sadness, April, tears are running down my face. How dare some call themselves parents...breeders, more like it--

Loss of Innocence (Poetry) - 10/24/2007 6:04:18 AM
There is great responsibility in the caring and guiding of the children birthed into this world...unfortunately many have strayed the path, parents along with the reality of society has been led astray and we now watch the effects of our own creation...
I wish there were more of todays society that would reach out and guide the unfortunate and also guide the adults who have fallen off the path ...
truly nice work...

My father used to make it a point to come after me and beat me with his belt buckle and baseball bat literally. Guess he wanted to be sure to admire the welt marks of his work when it was all over. Nice piece....

The Flogging (Poetry) - 10/22/2007 6:14:58 PM
Abuse is Abuse and some folks shouldn't have kids...but then again I had a few spankings that were well-deserved. And I do emphasize "well-deserved". This write causes one to wonder where to draw the line in this politcally-correct world we live in where condoms are given out to 11-year olds by our public school system.

Sad, what some children go through: there is a fine line between discipline and abuse. Many cross that line everyday: a potentially life-saving write, April, painfully penned.

This breaks my heart,,Yes we need to watch for signs of abuse and protect the children,, in schools, medical fields, dental offices, neighbors,,,,any where we supsect,, it is our responsibility to step in. I am saddened that you had to go through this,,
