Soul Imprints (Book) - 3/13/2009 4:18:18 PM
I have long preached to the connectivity we each have back to the beginning of time. Our genetic code in unique, but within our code is a sub code which includes intuition, feelings, memories and a host of other transferred material. My examples are the animals that continue to do amazing things without ever having a lesson in navigation, mating, survival, diet and thousands of other elements. We are our parents and our past. If we don't break the chain, our experiences will last forever. I write not for the money, but to build on expressions that will be passed on to my children and grandchildren. I "feel" the thinking of my great-grandparents, but I never knew them and I want my great-grandchildren to "see" me though my books. I really enjoyed "feeling" how you were thinking. Dr M

Shared Madness (Short Story) - 4/29/2009 6:57:43 AM
Love is a tickleing sensation around the heart, and we can not scratch it. Love can be hard to define. I think all we have to know sometimes is that love is! R C Smith
Shared Madness (Short Story) - 3/13/2009 4:23:59 PM
I like to think we each are shooting stars going through eternity. We are traveling with many stars and according to our trajectory and speed, we may travel a short while with those we love or a long way, but it does not matter overall, because we travel alone. I have been very fortunate in that I have had so many wonderful friends traveling close by. Dr R McGinnis

Hello Roberta. I read your poem,"Shared Madness" I believe we are all powerless to define love. It is inate it is unique it is all in all or not. It is God created in us. Well done I enjoyed reading this work. Please feel free to visit my site here in the "Den" to check out my work; as I would appreciate your critique.

Wow, what a description. I never thought about love being like this but I think you're right. Sometimes we crash and everybody says I told you so. It'd be nice if they'd pick us up and brush us off instead of saying it but that rarely happens.

Eternity (Poetry) - 4/14/2009 6:50:38 PM
God is everywhere in everthing on earth and eternity is belieiving on his love and his saving us on the cross and if we believe Heaven is the answer for us.

I loved the second half of this poem...in some ways it reminded me of a poem I wrote, entitled "Trying to be Whole." Your last stanza I especially loved...

We are loved as we believe we are. We offer love as we feel we can. When one true loves meets another, there are no boundaries. (I may have posted this twice as my computer warned me that the first attempt was a broken link and for two, I apologize)
Eternity (Poetry) - 3/13/2009 4:42:39 PM
Going in a straight line for eternity can be done, but then we miss all the rest of the 360 degrees. I would like to travel through infinity, cut a hole in the wall at the end and claim what is on the other side. It is amazing how man has conjured up just such words to describe what he can't possibly comprehend. Speaking of the straight line through eternity and the 360 degrees from where we are (our center) then imagine a one degree yaw and you can have another infinite pattern just like the first. I used to use a baseball to explain this concept to my students. You can go straight out from any point on a baseball an infinite distance, you can divide the dimensions as often as you like, but there well never be a way to cover all the possibilities and when two objects travel away from a point on a ball, their path gets farther and farther apart from each other until there is again, an infinite amount of space between. Imagination is a great thing, I wonder if we can keep it!

I have never felt alone, nor been alone as I am completely surrounded by those of my genes that came before me. They follow by law, produce as directed and will in unison. It is not hard to believe in an "after" life, because many of us certainly, have seen our "before" life.
I Cannot Find My Soul (Poetry) - 3/13/2009 4:29:33 PM
Great piece. My soul and my body have never been one. I have always felt the difference between the temporary me and the eternal me very strongly. My soul took to a seed and began to feed and I grew a body that will soon be returned as required by the law of nature. All of the borrowed elements, and time will be released back to the earth where it belongs, and my soul will move on.

Powerful image of what it is like to be different than what is considered normal (I have an opinion that there is no such thing as normal--being normal is an invention by the majority). I have severe dyslexia. When I was seven, my mother was told I would never learn to read. She taught me at home. Decades later, I have university degrees and taught English literature and literacy for thirty years. The rest of us that are considered normal (?) should strive to understand those that live on the fringes of that definition created by the majority. In a free and rich country like America, we should do what we can to help these individuals have a chance at life instead of ignoring them or persecuting them because of the “normal” aversion to those that are different. As you can see, I have a strong opinion on this topic since I was a victim of not fitting in myself while I was growing up.

So very beautiful and sad--the torment of feeling isolated in this way. Certainly this couldn't be you, Roberta. You own your words like one of the old masters.
