My Apologies to All (Short Story) - 9/14/2010 6:17:17 AM
Hi Carin' Spirit. Most of us have been rude sometimes and wish we had our mind in gear before we started talking. Yesterday, I became annoyed at the car wash guy when I brought the car back because it was not clean inside. I was right to bring the car back but allowed myself to become unpleasent and I hate when this happens and try not to allow it. Usually when we are rude or unpleasent, we are suffering or under some stress ourselves and need to remind ourselves the other fellow is similarly dealing with things you are not aware of. Peace be with you. Malcolm
Melissa (Short Story) - 6/5/2010 8:27:45 AM
Sometimes, we rather walk blind, live in oblivion, but it's because we're afraid to change. We tell ourselves that change is not possible, not for us, and we believe that lie, sinking deeper into misery and pain. But sometimes, it takes a moment like this to realize that we need to change, that we are getting a second chance to change, and I hope and pray that she realizes this. And I hope that she is okay.
Melissa (Short Story) - 5/13/2010 2:04:51 PM
The pain of watching someone else go down a road we've been down ourselves while trying to prevent them from having to endure the same, can be so strong and makes us feel helpless. Someone has to be ready to receive that help, in my belief. I pray Melissa took your advice and guidance, and that this experience helped her to find her way through. God bless you for trying and caring. ~Hugs, Elizabeth
Tippi (Short Story) - 5/5/2010 5:36:55 AM
Oh how very touching and sad. Oddly enough, and although I don't remember him, my family had a pet (dog) named Tippi and he also died tragically. This is written with the heart of a child, the heart of a child who loves her pet so much and will always remain in her heart. ~Hugs, Elizabeth
Melissa (Short Story) - 4/24/2010 3:03:52 AM
So very sad Carin but until she realizes there is a problem and accepts it dear, you can only pray for her and hope she will listen. sad when one is abused and even worst when we abuse ourselves. I will pray for Malissa's safty and courage to change her life while she has the chance.

Who's a Natural Woman? (Short Story) - 11/22/2009 10:23:33 AM
I have just discovered this piece and it's so fresh and honest.
Through the descriptions and all that we do to "fix" the way we feel,
you have touched something very true about women.

QWhat an excellent write! Enjoyed.
Tippi (Short Story) - 12/23/2008 9:15:07 AM
I like to think you can tell a lot about someone by how they treat animals. This story tells me volumes. I lost one of my beloved mini-Dachshunds this year. It hurt like heck. Still does at times. My hubby and I made a shrine for him: his green ball, his food bowl, his spiked collar, a poem I wrote honoring him, and 3 pictures at different stages in his life. When I read works like this, I realize how quickly pets earn unconditional love from us; they give that unconditional love back just as quickly. Thank you for sharing this story. Love and Hugs,
Sheila

Anger, Resentment, Intention (Poetry) - 8/25/2010 5:27:37 AM
That's a good idea Carin! Write and send yourself a letter releasing the anger, the pain, and/or the resentment. Sometimes you don't even have to mail it, just writing it down can be cathartic...but so true that to let it go releases the mind. Well done! ~Hugs, Elizabeth

No more words of war.... (Poetry) - 8/13/2010 8:24:24 PM

Reality Update (Poetry) - 8/10/2010 11:11:02 PM
I have an annoying, grandpa black cat, sitting, begging, yearning for attention, for old/youth days, Sage/Spirit. He's seen a dozen or two kittens come after him, not all lived. Cats are liquid fur, cats are bristley. Kinda like whiskers... Cats are 'T's. Like reality.

What Poetry is to me (Poetry) - 8/9/2010 1:56:51 PM
Ah, poetry. Its meaning is a varied as the poets who attempt to come to grips with themselves and their world. For some it is roses and white picket fences, others see and write a gritter time line for themselves. Some are rather snooty and believe their lofty words to be so far superior to the lovelorn Betty's who cry about lover's lost. So, in regard to what poetry is? It is you.

Trials of Tribulation (Poetry) - 6/11/2010 3:56:23 PM
Carin'
You are surviving the struggle of this thing we call life, and surviving it better than you give yourself credit for; there's a lot of positive here and inspirational.

Wondering??? (Poetry) - 6/2/2010 11:10:20 AM
Don't you just love when that happens? You get so into the person's work you forget to save or add as a favourite. I'll remember to add this work so it will remind me to not forget. Make any sense?? Glad you think so....ummmmmm....I think. Great use of words!

Dorothy

The Undoing (Poetry) - 5/26/2010 12:40:01 AM
Hatred does kill many attributes of life. It is such a senseless struggle, to hate. This subject deserves conciseness, and you kept it well, Carin.

I've heard the opposite of fear is LOVE. And love overcomes hate and evil. May your home be filled with LOVE Carin'!

Home Sweet Home (Poetry) - 5/18/2010 6:10:15 PM
It is funny that, I feel my home is far from where my roots are. Nice writing, Carin. Interesting how home is here and there, and how we travel in small areas over vast expanses of time; as you had mentioned in another of your poems (something about 50 miles). I hope to see that place my heart longs to be in, so I can put these words on those doors. Thank you, Carin.
Beautiful Brown Eyes ... Close (Poetry) - 5/10/2010 9:37:42 PM
It's better to be honest with someone about ur situation right up front, let them know what they're dealing with, rather than pull at heart strings, then withdraw into the pity party..leaving someone's heart all tangled, and stressed out. Why not let the other person decide whether they are up for it or not..
Sweet November comes to mind, boy if there was ever a movie that angered me it was that one!!
I'm being pretty blunt here i know, but as one who has been through a fairly similar situation.. It's just so selfish!
Take care Carin, you deserve to be really happy! xx
Beautiful Brown Eyes.... (Poetry) - 5/10/2010 9:20:53 PM
A heart that was truly perceptive would've seen the beauty within, and even through the doubt, perservered!!
don't eat urself up too much..Some ppl just are not able to give what it takes sometimes, and in the long run, ur better off!

Memories of the Storm (Poetry) - 5/1/2010 6:42:52 PM
A very nice recovery and so well expressed here. This one is tied to the other in a very good way; eventhough, they are near complete opposites, they identify well as a pair. A battle between good and evil is prevailed by good...nice...I feel good with this one.
50 miles beyond 50 years (Poetry) - 5/1/2010 6:29:16 PM
It sounds like you have gathered a mystery and a very good solution together; you point out the confinement and you discovered a wonderful break to it. I think we need that place you've found, all of us. I have had those places and they change, at times to other places, but I keep one handy. Thanks for the read, Carin. Enjoy creating, always....
In One Moment (Poetry) - 5/1/2010 6:16:47 PM
I love this writing; it is a very lovely piece of work, Carin. It puts me in a place, but I feel this is only metaphorical (the lightning and thunder), perhaps a broken relationship or a moment of unsatisfying decision. Whatever the meaning, it is most beautiful to read, and has opportunity for free interpretation. I love writings like that. Thank you.

There's nothing finer that the cedar hope chest filled with all those old day letters tied with yarn with post marks and cancelled stamps! I love this post, Carin'! Communications sealed in an envelope of yesteryear is all we need to remain close to the sender, even if some are no longer on this plane of life...cursive and hand-written mail revive, let's keep it alive! Be well.
