Hi April -- I'm glad you liked the article. It sounds like the people you told about your career change were generally supportive. I was surprised myself at how supportive people became when they came to see how important my transition was to me. It seems like people -- even the ones we think of as most conservative and judgmental -- understand and respond when you're truly following your heart.

Thanks for the great article. I completely agree that there is no need to justify why we make the choices we make. Having recently transitioned careers myself, I got many of the same questions. I never felt that people were asking me to justify my choice though. It seemed more like they were fascinated by my decision to follow my true passion and leave the security and stability that I had known. So many people are afraid to take the risk.
