Oprah In Her Words Our American Princess (Book) - 8/19/2010 3:50:43 PM
I have to admit, at first glance I thought it was a book by Oprah. Very clever. I wanted to know more about this person who captured Oprah's words, so I went to your site to see that you have no only done this with Oprah but with Obama and a few others. Have you sent Oprah a copy? Look forward to reading more.

Why Not Try God (Book) - 4/6/2010 12:12:03 AM
Some people are in need of AA because of alcohol, others, of diverse institutions to help their physical and/or psychical ailments. But there's always unselfish people around that dedicate their lives to help or guide or suggest other alternative, the one so off hand dismissed and so necessary to survive, to approach God with an open heart. Dr. Sam Shoemaker was one of them, the ones making possible the connection between you and Him. Georg

What he said then, and what he tells us today- Obama In His Words (Book) - 2/13/2010 6:50:06 AM
Tuchy, I am truly inspired. I am going to order this book for my son, so please autograph it to Malcolm. We are both Obamaites. I can't wait to read this myself. I am in good company with authors like yourself.

Young children finding God Inspired Children (Book) - 11/18/2009 1:02:27 AM
You don't need to corporally abuse a child, just treat hi/her with indifference as the child search for parent's intimacy. But yes, there are corporal abuse by beating the child because they can't control the rage against their own private frustrations. The child create barriers, walls, a secret world were he retreats, where he can talk, and smile, a world that he will defend with lies and explanations, and also becoming to an adulthood as a damaged goods. Children will ask God for help...and will not understand His silence. Georg

Oprah In Her Words Our American Princess (Book) - 10/7/2009 6:21:29 AM
I agree so strongly with the Golden rule you mentioned on your page. Dear Mr. Palmieri My Mother always said "treat others the way you want to be treated," and I've always lived by this. I've read the reviews for your book. I am a BIG fan of Oprah and am going to make my first purchase as a result of AuthorsDen. Thank you for the welcoming words when I first joined, I hope we can find friendship and I look forward to reading your work!! Take care and have a Blessed day! -Jessica L. Scaffidi-Fonti

To Drink Or Not To Drink (Book) - 9/16/2009 11:55:51 AM
Drinking and Driving is one of the most common ways to fatalities. A couple glass of wine with your dinner is OK, a couple of bottles aren't. A cold beer on the back porch on a hot summer afternoon is refreshing, but drinking cold beers until passing out isn't cool anymore. Man should be capable to stop drinking, smoking, eating and in general being a jerk blaming others or fate for his own inability. But, if the book can make just one man to stop drinking or at least calling a cab instead of driving under the influence...kudos to it! Georg

Children Of The Second Birth how lives were transformed (Book) - 8/10/2009 4:37:13 PM

life without relationship is no life at all --Relationship Recovery (Book) - 6/6/2009 3:42:10 PM

life without relationship is no life at all --Relationship Recovery (Book) - 5/11/2009 6:10:40 PM
Relationship Recovery by Carl “Tuchy” Palmieri is an unconventional approach to repairing the damage that comes with broken relationships. The book is comprised of lists of the author’s personal revelations, affirmations derived from the 12 step recovery program, as well as a variety of quotes. The piece is to be used as a workbook and encourages readers to think deeply about their relationship problems. Palmieri includes poetry from a variety of writers including Erasmus, Saint Patrick and Reinhold Niebuhr author of the “Serenity Prayer.” In fact, Palmieri offers his own version of the prayer: “God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change directly/The courage to change the person I can/The wisdom to know that person is me/And to leave the changes of others to God and them (72).” The author covers many components of relationships including emotional and physical intimacy, the impact of substance abuse, and the need to have a connection with a Higher Power. He also challenges the traditional perspective of what relationships should be and how individuals should exist in them: “Treat the other person in the relationship the way they want to be treated and not the way you want to be treated (11).” While Palmieri offers many nuggets of wisdom and guides the reader towards introspection, some parts of the book could have been stronger. There are several poems and quotes included that are attributed to an anonymous source or not at all. Also, the addition of an explanatory paragraph at the beginning of each of the lists of affirmations and instructions for completing the exercises would make this book more useful to readers just as the directive to read the “I am okay” list of affirmations daily was highly effective. In a world where troubled relationships are the norm, Relationship Recovery provides insight and jars accepted viewpoints.

Life Changers By Harold Begbie republished by Tuchy Palmieri (Book) - 4/29/2009 3:57:12 AM
For the last part of the 1900, life got changed, but not in the way we have wished. Progress? yes, but the human factor, with those bad knacks, bended many souls. Also many of those souls needed a little push, because very little was changed to promote self-esteem, salvation or religion. That someone collected experiences to let know that help exist maybe is the first steep to help. Georg

An Open letter To Nicole Richie (Short Story) - 2/9/2010 1:35:39 PM
Shouldn't those that are so hung out about their physical appearance take a look at the few millions starving? Are our 2010 society so busy perusing tabloids with self impose hunger celebrities that we forget that about thousand upon thousand die everyday of malnutrition and maladies caused by a non existent immune system? We have been manipulate by fashion gurus to look at starving skeletons as a expression of beauty wearing outrageous priced rags. That Nicole went out of that circus and into anonymity doesn't tell many of young followers of her that what she did was wrong, and that disguising it as an "illness" can't hide the fact that all was done because of a strong self conceit. Georg

Personal Power-- Through Action (Short Story) - 12/30/2009 4:11:09 AM

Belief And Faith Go Hand In hand-- From The book The Next 60 years (Short Story) - 12/27/2009 12:53:28 AM
"...Some people believe love is something to use, rather than something to give..." when man took love as a commodity everything else when out the window. Progress and longevity had made man to go to the center of himself, so much, that it is himself the only thing he can see. Georg

You can have Success today-- It's all about speaking and listening (Short Story) - 12/22/2009 3:14:32 PM

Thinking and thoughts --quotes on thoughts and thinking (Short Story) - 12/12/2009 2:14:53 PM
"...some thoughts are thoughtless..." and how true that is. More often than not words will be pushed out by a thoughtless thought that we can't take back and that will not be softened even by the most sincere apology. Of all the quotes above, this read gave his thoughts to that one. Georg

a little bit of love--- From Tuchy's book The Next 60 Years (Short Story) - 12/3/2009 12:16:26 AM
To some, unlucky number, to me a lucky one, (13) Love makes good mortar, but poor brick. Don't know about that, not yet have known one or the other, just the promise of either. Georg PS. And The Next 60 Years is a book I will be buying! (at 85 I hope I get so many years left to read it...LOL)

Lesson's for life - Quotes from tuchy's books on the subject of life (Short Story) - 12/1/2009 2:55:00 AM
"...it is the fool that lives each day like tomorrow may never come..." Life and Living Through Quotes, can be percolated by the phrase above judging after the many quotes available to the reader at this stage. We have been entertained and educated by Tuchy Carl Palmieri's many articles, books and referring to other authors, we are lucky that his inspiration's fountain keeps giving us something to think for ourselves. Georg

What Has Your Religion Done For You?-- An Emmet Fox Essay (Short Story) - 10/24/2009 1:36:03 AM
What my religion as done for me? Lets see...scrambled my brain? From one of His representatives the chronicle of a benign Father that no matter how I disappoint Him, he will always forgive, love, patiently wait for me to come around, giving comfort when I am in sorrow. From another of His representatives would I get a tirade of how guilty I am, how I need salvation from eternal Hell (created by the loving Father?) how I going to pay dearly for my sins like Judas did. To small boys, one was showing us a path of love and understanding that we should have been a bunch of morons not to take, but the other, the one thundering about dungeons, fire and eternal torture make us thing that somewhere, saying wrong! wasn't half of it. Wisecracker kids that we were, we could smell a con job, but we couldn't decided who was who. The first one, it was too good to be true or the second too off the walls to be even consider as everybody knows you can con a conman... Now, the sixty four thousand dollar question, "what religion did to me?" my brain's thoughts are as weird as they come. They taught us to become cynics (which isn't an excuse). Georg

The Awakening --for Men (Short Story) - 10/10/2009 12:59:32 AM
Oh maaaan! Here we go again, hitting a poor slob that was put together by a Mom! Our little man has not a chance when it comes to be the object of Mom vs Wife, but to survive he could become cunning, speculative and outright an emotional con man, which is the opposite of what "Cindirella" are looking for. In my humble opinion, man should throw away that blanket his mother put over his shoulders and reject any cardigan his other half wants he to wear and be ready to give and take. He then, will survive! Georg PS. apropos, have you read The man & the Woman yet?

The Awakening--- For women (Short Story) - 10/10/2009 12:42:01 AM
Women have a maternalistic gen that dominates sometimes their good senses, like don't accepting her man as he comes but trying to mold him into a preconceived model of "the man of my dreams" forgetting that relationships are a game of give and take. When one only takes, the other feels isolated and you know what happens next. On this time and age when women are wearing pants, they should also walk in the shoes of men and see that men first objective is not to change woman but to enjoy them! :-) Georg PS: apropos, read my very short story The Man & the Woman

An Open Letter To Star Jones (Short Story) - 9/18/2009 4:31:46 AM
I watch with interest what happens when overweight people begin to address their problem. I usually wonder what the underlying emotional issues are. When a person's weight is out of control, I wonder whether they are addressing all aspects of their lifestyle to achieve a balance. The American diet and lifestyle today tends toward what is convenient and fast over what is healthy for body and mind. People who are too stressed seem to have a greater tendency toward weight problems. Perhaps Ms Jones will enlighten us as to the full picture concerning her weight control choices. http://www.greatlakesromances.com

An Open Letter To Star Jones (Short Story) - 9/18/2009 12:13:39 AM
Oh my! so God was the one botching the job? or it is true that gluttony is the primary cause our rear end gets hamburgers and fries bigger and our "pregnant" stomachs hanging beer-bags? The problem, or not, of going the by-pass surgery path is that to maintain a healthy forage supply it will cost much more than hamburgs, fries and donuts (which are more tastier and cheaper than rabbit food) Star Jones will feel what is good or bad to Star Jones, everyone is different and I will not put my life at risk because the procedure did or didn't reach the expected results on another person. But that's just me. Georg

An Open Letter To Star Jones (Short Story) - 9/17/2009 12:16:09 PM
I personally think it causes more problems in the end, and people have died or have become worse off since having it. So I am totally against it; yet on the other hand, what are those who live with morbid obesity supposed to do? The question remains..... Well done! (((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(

the snowflake and the prayer (Short Story) - 8/13/2009 3:27:48 PM
what a beautiful analogy this is! Praying with another person is very strengthening and encouraging; I wish I had more opportunities for united prayer. "Where 2 or 3 are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them." Nothing like it. After reading this, I will think of snowflakes as prayers and remember your words. I agree with Joanna about the line she quoted. Connie

The Secret ( law of attraction) By James Allen (Short Story) - 7/2/2009 7:16:22 AM
...and as man thinks...where's my purity, must have one or I had it all time along? ...and if I had not purity...how I go to wear one? or you must deserve it, or earn, perhaps inherit? Probable a book more full of questions than answers, a book to kick in gear the philosophical funny bones of anyone with a little piece of brain left. Kudos! Georg

Just For Today - from an unknown author Sybyl F. Partridge (Article) - 11/22/2012 11:52:50 AM
I question attribution to Sybil Partridge - It is true that Ms. Partridge wrote a hymn "Just For Today" (JFT) that gained a fair amount of notoriety, apparently because it was adopted by several protestant churches - and while that hymn is thematically similar, the content is not - It is also true that JFT is quoted in Dale Carnegie's book, as you mentioned - the same attribution is also mentioned in "Dale Carnegie's Scrapbook" - Lastly, another individual found a version of JFT in "The Treasure Chest," edited by Charles L. Wallis, copyright, 1965. In it, acknowledgement is made to "This Week" for "Just for Today" by Kenneth L. Holmes, copyright 1953, by the United Newspapers Magazine Corporation. At this point, I was confused over the authorship and submitted it to the "Quote Investigator", Garson O'Toole, whom I was very happy to learn, undertook an investigation - His results are posted here: http://quoteinvestigator.com/2012/07/26/just-for-today/ A Presbyterian minister, Dr.Frank Crane wrote a column for the Boston Globe, "Dr.Crane Says" - On May 29, 1921, he published "Just For Today" in his column with a 1921 copyright - unfortunately that article is not freely available - I did purchase a copy of that article for verification - I agree with O'Toole's conditional attribution to Dr. Frank Crane - There are unanswered questions - * I have touble believing that Dale Carnegie would have made a mistake - * I believe Ms Partridge died in 1917, I am puzzled by your comment that she used them in workshops in the 20's and 30's - I am curious if you can provide any more information to support attribution to Ms. Partridge? Thanks, Larry Holbrook

Just For Today - from an unknown author Sybyl F. Partridge (Article) - 3/18/2011 10:21:02 AM
hello, I wanted to leave you this post based on your information. I have a piece of sheet music written by a woman named Jane Bingham Abbott called Just for To Day. She gives credit(actually it says "authentically traced) to Miss Sibyl F. Partridge of Liverpool England. The song is written in 1894 so the poem MUST be older than that. I am not sure if this information will help you track down exactly who Sibyl (how its spelled on this music) F. Partridge is. ps. this song is a duet, soprano in A flat, alto in F. Below are the Sheet music Lyrics: Lord, for tomorrow and its needs, I do not pray; Keep me, my God from stain of sin, Just for Today; Let me no wrond or idle word Unthinking say; Set Thou a seal upon my lips, Just for Today. In Pain and sorrow's cleansing fires, Brief be my stay; oh, bid me if to lay i die, come home to day; So for tomorrow and its needs, I do not pray, But Keep me, guide me, love me Lord; Just for Today. Let me both diligently work, and duly pray; let me be kind in word and deed, Just for today; Let me in season, Lord, be grave, in season gay; Let me be faithful to Thy grace, Just for today. In pain and sorrow's cleansing fires, Brief be my stay; Oh, take me in thy loving arms lest I should stray, So for tomorrow and its needs, I do not pray, But keep me, guide me, love me Lord, Just for Today. If you have any information on Jane Bingham Abbott circa 1894 please let me know what you have. Im trying to curate this sheet music and get it sent to the right museum but I want to learn as much about it as I possibly can first!! Thank you! Jen Majewski

But my mouth can go constantly and my hands when typing reviews. I think you have thought up a great abiding principal to use in your walk with God.

The Word and all it's power (Poetry) - 6/9/2008 6:22:41 AM
There is certainly power in the words we speak, and the words we hear from others. You have brought out so much in this poem. The last verse is a beautiful summation of what you desire from the words YOU speak, and a worthy goal for all! Connie

The Word and all it's power (Poetry) - 6/4/2008 9:09:42 AM
The word is our road map for life, it will help us to build upon a solid foundation which will help us to weather life's storms...if we are willing to sew the word in our heart and follow His plan, or we may choose to disreguard our map and stray off the path intended and build upon sands that will provide temporary happiness and security and will eventually be shaken by the storms of life! Such an inspiring write my friend, very few poems touch me so deeply as this, write on! Enjoyed! Blessings, Joyce B.

When my life is through I will wait for you (Poetry) - 6/4/2008 8:49:45 AM
This poem reminds me of my grandparents, and some of my other Italian relatives, who were so devoted to their loved ones, husbands or wives. Sometimes, I hear an Italian saying that they do not fear death, as they will be reunited with their husbands, wives, or family members. Your poem captures devotion and faith beautifully.

When I was Three- you were there for me (Poetry) - 5/31/2008 6:24:48 AM
A very interesting and unique way of reviewing your life. At first I wrote the previous sentence, then I looked back and realized it was your life as seen in your relationship with the Lord. That made it more understandable. I love the childlike awareness of God in "You played with me." Nice work, and I'm glad you and He got together again! Connie

Amen to this Tuchy! Many of us are idle and allow time to slip through our fingers. What everyone of us need to do is to accept each day God gives to us and live it to the fullest. Time...God gave us time and with it life and choices, some go through it constructively others sit there looking at the sand in their hourglass running, filling the lower end and emtying the begining. Those last ones are ungrateful of the gift they got. Georg

Live this moment as if it is the last day of your life. I have heard that said. It is nice to remember, and even nicer to predict a more wealthy future, but living for today is so true and as it should be. Take one day at a time is hard to do sometimes, but we can surely try. **********

Oh how the years roll around and come and go so quickly. I too look forward to being 10 years older and wonder how I'll be? I am not afraid of old age, but don't like it either. Too many aches and pains. Must bear with it though and only will be here til my good lord takes me home.

Good advice for us to follow, forgiveness isn't always easy for us to forgive others, giving takes work too, and to be physically emotionally and spiritual healthy takes lots of work too. Working for the Lord is simply doing his will and abiding by the Golden Rules. Good Write. Thanks for sharing.
