AWSOME! Welfare and foodstamps serve three purposes for the far right:
1}They need something to generate votes and $$$$$.
2}The costs of welfare are tiny compared to arrest, conviction, and incarceration.
3} The biggest thing of all for not only conservatives but everybody is keeping the status quo. The vast majority of people on welfare could find jobs but those jobs are bad jobs and bad jobs not only translate into low income, few benefits, but high stress. Someone with chronic psychiatric problems like me and my brother can't handle really high stress jobs.
Keeping the status quo means restricting access to good jobs partly because nobody wants to go from upper class to middle class. Socialist nations have less unemployment because poor less educated people have a better shot at a good job.
