Quite erotic and loving, written holding
nothing back and showing "love." Thoroughly

You are very, very good at your craft!
Freedom (Poetry) - 2/15/2015 8:33:07 AM
Shirley! YES! I agree with you. It's nice to have an audience, but truly it is our way of explaining ourselves to ourselves! If you use </br> you won't need the virgules (/) at the end of lines. A little html. I used to teach Shakespeare online when our high school had too many kids for the buildings to hold.

Very lovely poetry !
You are an inspiration!
Happy New Year
The Lotus (Poetry) - 12/28/2014 10:15:27 AM
Reminds me of that very small stone pond in front of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. In the murky water could be seen a single lotus plant with one bloom. One small token of beauty amid the dusty square that stretched out in all directions filled with the hustle of the city. Seemingly uncaring for its worth.
One Flesh (Poetry) - 11/30/2014 2:21:11 PM
This is a song of a humble soul!!
One Flesh (Poetry) - 11/30/2014 7:35:47 AM
In spite of the improbable story of a woman coming from a man's rib, there is something magical about the difference between a man and a woman, that you write so well. Lines like, "let me drink nectar from the fruit of your inclinations, "our brilliant and sensual. Your man must be very lucky to have a woman who can express herself in such beautiful ways.
One Flesh (Poetry) - 11/30/2014 6:55:59 AM
An enchanting poem to an
improbable story. Well done.
Divergent (Poetry) - 11/24/2014 11:32:47 AM
Certainly very brightly inspired, illuminating any darkness and casting it aside. Here on earth, we live in the shadow of such a light. It is our inspiration, but we cannot look directly at it or expose our skin to it very long. It is our eternal flame and inspiration.
Divergent (Poetry) - 11/24/2014 7:02:49 AM
I love everything about this poem, the photo the way you formatted this, it shines with your light Shirley!
Peace, love and light,

Sleep (Poetry) - 9/16/2014 5:29:27 AM
"to the place where my dreams breathe" excellent
interesting note: Thomas Edison slept 4 hours a day and Nikola Telsa slept 2 hours s day ...
Sleep (Poetry) - 9/15/2014 8:02:07 AM
Ah, sweet sleep. Fortunately I get some between bouts of waking up to nature's call. You give it a beautiful, ethereal quality just like the process, itself.
I just read an article about a professor who teaches a course on Sleep and Dreams that is highly popular and his recent studies that have proven how important sleep really is for our well-being. I've known those that claim they could cheat sleep, but somehow, inherently, I knew they were wrong.
Sleep (Poetry) - 9/14/2014 3:11:35 PM
Sometimes I Fly (Poetry) - 8/10/2014 11:36:04 AM
flying high above the earth/
embraced the rage/
displaced the rage/
sometimes I fly/
like a bird whose cage disintegrates/
pay homage to ashes/
inurned in the sky/
pay homage to my soul/
exhume the life entombed inside/
God bless the child/
exhume the life entombed inside/
God bless the child/
alas, to rise/
alas, to fly
The best description of pain, and rising above pain I have ever read. Inspiring

The Poets Call (Poetry) - 6/26/2014 5:29:51 AM
"it burdens your heart'... indeed it can. what we are called to accomplish for the Most High is like a 'fire in the bones'. But it can also be as a field that flourishes and then lies fallow for a season. Your thoughts here are fully considered and flow like a pure stream. rlc

No doubt true, but will not beauty, trust, and love not increase our sense of wonder?
Pessimism (Poetry) - 5/24/2014 6:22:14 PM
Hurt always has an influence. How you handle it defines your pessimism.
Pessimism (Poetry) - 5/24/2014 9:32:15 AM

Memories however cruel
Must not claim our defeat
The temptation is to purge the worst
But we must never cleanse the sweet
Streams (Poetry) - 3/23/2014 10:24:54 AM
Beautifully tragic except for the stranger last line which seems to ask for your sweet memories to be cleansed. I am probably misreading this… for that was not your intention.

Anoint Me (Poetry) - 1/22/2014 8:26:59 AM
More alluring words I have never read. It might just get me to admit my darkest shame. But what if I have none to offer? ;-)
Anoint Me (Poetry) - 1/21/2014 4:33:12 PM
This is vulnerability and desire to love wholeheartedly. I have to chuckle at "medicinal properties" of your kisses. I hope you can correct that!!!
I have one criticism.. "the love that fuses we" seems a bit awkward to me. Why not use "fuses us" which would be proper grammar?
I like your intro sentence, too.

Detour (Poetry) - 1/13/2014 8:56:28 AM
Why am I thinking of Hillary Clinton? I believe it's already too late for her, even if she has transposed. Why do I have these kinds of daydreams in the middle of reading poetry? I don't know.
When I read your poem, I know a good woman will find a way.

Such beautiful poetic words are being missed by so many friends on the den. I feel special to have the honor to make the first comment on your "Musing" poem. On a positive note it's absolutely breathtaking! On a negative not the title, "Musing" does not give this spectacular poem any credit. I have a special message for you Shirley I will write seperately.
Peace, love and blessings,

Wish I could find a drink that would give me that kind of feeling.

We are the best and God made us.
Languishing (Poetry) - 1/16/2013 12:33:20 PM
I agree with Lonnie...invites reading without stopping. This was a cascading ascent of a poem. I especially liked: "from a fiery hearth of monotony" and the 'unabated' "by the superficiality of appearances kept/" -- what an adroit way to describe what society does on a one-to-one and a one-to-group, and a group-to-group. Excellent, Shirley ~~ Diana

another your very wonderful writes
Languishing (Poetry) - 1/3/2013 1:59:27 PM
This is tremendous. It achieves a nice balance of imagery and use of words that allows the reader to continue along in the reading. Your use of words is achieving that balance between allowing the reader to continue to be immersed in the writing without stopping to think about what specific words mean. Good balance. Your writing continues to get better and better in my view.
Good job, great thoughts and feelings displayed here.
You Are The Sun (Poetry) - 12/28/2012 5:59:13 AM

You Are The Sun (Poetry) - 12/26/2012 4:55:08 AM
I read this poem almost as if I was listening to a song: with a sense of music inside and a rhythm in mind. Lovely ideas, connections, imagery. I like the way you compare uncertainty to an "aphotic mist" that evanishes under the Sun.
You Are The Sun (Poetry) - 12/25/2012 6:03:19 PM
This sounds like a love meant to be
Musical Fantasies (Poetry) - 10/14/2012 10:50:18 AM

Enough (Poetry) - 10/11/2012 6:14:02 PM
I am pleased that I am now a reader and not a submitter. That I have found a poet who's works I can enjoy. Though "Enough" is an age old tale of love forlorn it is still new in this rendering.- Robert
Act 1, Scene 2 (Poetry) - 10/11/2012 5:48:59 PM
The birth of a brighter day, set to the music of bird song. No doubt conducted by countless baton's of "The Willow".
9-1-1 (Poetry) - 10/11/2012 5:40:40 PM
Never seen a poem set up like this one Shirley, but by golly I enjoyed it. I think that you just surrendered yourself to his charmes if the truth be known. Oh! the pictures you include send this old codgers 82 year old heart pumping faster than it should.
Musical Fantasies (Poetry) - 10/10/2012 1:22:06 PM
A unique poem of compelling emotions orchestrated in
"Musical Fantasies." Accolades to you.

The Willow (Poetry) - 10/6/2012 1:34:13 PM
A write set out in abstract form. Cleverly done so as not to be pondered over at length to be able to interpret its meaning. A cleverly painted picture in words.
Truth (Poetry) - 10/6/2012 1:23:53 PM
The use of nature to portray ones own emotions, is a very clever and refreshing way of putting words into a delightful and satifying write. This work is very skilfully done and I congratulate you for it flows beautifully.
