Not many people know what a sour person I used to be about dreaming. This is just a part of what most people don't know, but explains how I started to trust people again to do the right thing. It's a note to our YTB team I'm sharing because Life is better than what CNN says it is, and it's about not having to be perfect. Just honest.

(Sharing a personal message about our story, and how we learned not to be prejudiced about the word "networking"...Oh, and to view the Leadership Show archive, check out the Team Spectrum link below.)

It's nothing more than connecting, relating, and working for the good of a team...we reap what we sow when sown in the right spirit.

To our team family:
Melissa's Birthday is Feb. 28. Please consider sending her a birthday wish thru email or by text via her cell phone. Here is why this request is being made:

When Melissa Boston did our very first "maiden voyage" travel party Feb. 18, 2006, we were SO GREEN with ignorance. Believe it or not, Kenny was the one more excited about YTB because he knew that he didn't want to teach for the rest of his life. The ONLY reason I signed with him--a lot of y'all don't know this--was for the health insurance, and the perks.

To quote others we know from the time....."Cynth'ya Reed was far too busy to be thinking about taking a vacation unless it was family reunion related. This is the gospel truth. But I knew if something would happen to Kenny, and if between the two of us we could find 6 people to say yes to YTB in the next 10 years (don't laugh, that's what I thought!!) to personally sponsor then all our health coverage would be free.

But we never met our sponsor Kevin Vaughan, who first COLD CONTACTED US on the phone thru a someone whom I've never met face to face who needed some help with his radio show newsletter. That's how we met Kevin Vaughan....thru a radio CHAT LINE!

We said..."No....we don't have time...who are you....we're not interested...if I know someone we'll tell them about this little travel club you have....."

The only way Kevin got our trust, even before I told Kenny he's told us about YTB was because I was doing work for this other gentleman. And I didn't get paid that much....my work was basically free, but thinking that if I pleased other people enough, they'd recognize me.

Didn't happen.

I also worked for a man who had a startup magazine (CHRISTIAN  magazine mind you) that paid me $25 for a total of 5 stories (documented, I still have the magazines--and he owes me at least $100 but we got that sponsoring 1 person into our powerteam....so he's forgiven. He too met Melissa long before she even got started in her YTB business. She was brand new. And he told her "no."

For Melissa that was at least two and a half directorships ago.

*Halleluyer--as Tyler Perry's "Madea" would say.)

And the YTB website was SO PLAIN, but nice sort of like a newborn gets better looking once they've been out of the womb for a while.---The marketing site consisted of a picture of a white man in bermuda shorts walking on the beach holding a cell phone all by himself...THAT was our first YTB website. But look at it now! Ain't God good?

They still had the audio archives in the back, which is how we learned everything we knew about YTB before we met Kevin...thru the CONFERENCE CALLS and COACH'S SATURDAY CALL....now called "The Leadership Show." No video...all we had was a phone that maxed out at 500 listeners. We never went to Red Carpet until 2007 in the spring. The first time we met Kevin Vaughan was at the 2006 Aug. YTB Convention. There were only 700 people there.

And it was AMAZING... it was the year that Jerome Hughes son was about to go to PRISON at age 16 for 5 years and even though Jerome was making six figures, it was breaking his heart. The entire room, men and women, cried when he told that story that he said he was keeping to himself.

If it had not been for Melissa coming to a total strangers home in Indiana on an 8 degree above zero day...had it not been for her being so kind to us with me and my "okay we'l let you in the house to do this and see what happens" attitude; if not for the 12 people who cancelled, and then 12 more showed up????!!!! and packed our living room on a day when I didn't even want to go outside, but people traveled as far as 6 miles across town to be there at our home in the bitter cold??? I had to see a miracle. We'd been in so many other companies that had let us down or just let us get products wholesale and we were NOT TAUGHT ABOUT THE WRITE OFF IN THOSE OTHER COMPANIES LIKE THE WAY WE ARE BEING TAUGHT IN YTB!!!

If not for people who were on Jerome's team who were Coach's Corner who had yet to be directors, Jerome would have missed that convention. But he was convinced to talk to Coach, which isn't easy for ANY man to or woman for that matter to do. Jerome was heartbroken. The prosecutors had it in for his son who had a serious drug problem and was stealing to support his habit. (This story is on record so it's not like we're gossiping here---this is why we're saying see and take a prospect to "MADEA GOES TO JAIL"....it's crazy how the story lines correlate in some ways with Jerome Hughes and "Little Jerome's stories." But Coach took Ted Lindauer, his top attorney-in fact top attorney in network marketing in the country--documented--to Macon Georgia courthouse and stood in his shorts before a judge, pleading on behalf of Jerome's son THREE DAYS BEFORE THE 2006 YTB CONVENTION!

Jerome didn't tell Coach he was going to tell his story. But Jerome felt people needed to hear it. That day,August 11, 2006, was the day that Cynth'ya and Kenny fell completely in love with YTB. We saw it was different, we saw the people were different, and anything that could make--at the time Level 2 Director James Prewitt--now level 4---cry like a baby in a public place was the business that WE wanted to be in. ....

The year before (2006) there were a little over 350. The 2005 one was Larease and Meliss'a very first YTB convention and they had no team at all.

Obviously, my WHY has changed. It's not about me anymore. It's about helping other people take care of THEIR medical bills AND after cruising, have mercy I want a houseboat called "Carnival Dream." LOL

Before signing off....People have worked these jobs, and these companies are failing them, but the CEOs are still living in luxury.

That ain't right. So what we're saying is that if NOT for Ms Melissa Boston, whose family laughed at her for having A GOOD JOB that paid her $70,000 a year, but she was only making about 1/2 of that as take home, working 60 to 80 hours a week, not able to see her son because she was traveling for her company to make THEM BILLIONS for THEIR CLIENTS...what is the problem with someone investing $250 in their families future when we spend more just taking our families to Cedar Point, making Cedar Point billions upon billions to laugh, cut up, throw up and have a good time????

What's that good time doing to secure your family?

God bless you and love you, say happy birthday to Melissa.
(We use www.dayspring.com)---the date can be programmed to go out on her birthday if your busy. Please show your appreciate letting her know you are connected with Kevin Vaughans team that got started in Muncie IN. Kevin was just as new to YTB as we were, that's why we spoke to each other every day on the phone, Kenny, me and Kevin, and met for the first 8 months after we met on the phone.

We're not advocating chat lines to prospect people at all, but that evening on the radio call chat on the first anniversary celebrated by the other station (which was also our Wedding Anniversary, Aug. 23) it took Kevin at least 3 months to get up the nerve to contact us. We still knew each other thru the 3rd party who signed his station up for YTB thru someone else when we told him about it first.

It was a blessing. We don't want partners like that. We want honest people. Again, see MADEA GOES TO JAIL...you'll make the connection towards the end of the movie about "honesty"

Much love, please say "Thank you" to Melissa on her birthday....because this email would not be in your mailbox, nor would we be partners if not for Kevin getting over his fear to contact us, and Melissa coming 10 hours away by car in the dead of winter to talk to a total stranger, because she trusted Kevin. She made her FIRST retirement announcement, this single mom, at age 33 (she was 32 at the time) at our home.

We feel honored she'd do that, not to brag, but to share how YTB can change a life. God is using Melissa as a testimony. She was sent to us by spiritual forces straight from heaven. There's  no other explanation for it.

So with tears of gratitude in my eyes right now we say, hang in there, and
God bless y'all,  it's going to be okay, okay?
If someone doesn't come into your YTB business after all that's happening in the economy, they don't deserve this blessing, at least not right now. God ain't finished with their lesson yet. When God get done, the ones who are supposed to be with you, will be there.
