On the eve of her wedding, Rebecca is having second thoughts. As she and her maid-of-honor drive through a ferocious storm, Rebecca thinks that she has hit someone by the side of the road. That night, the ghost appears to her in a dream.
The wipers beat furiously in a futile effort to clear the windshield of the torrential downpour. As she entered a sharp turn, Rebecca swerved to miss a branch that had blown down on the road. The high beams of an oncoming truck blinded her just as the car hit a standing patch of water. She braced as the car ploughed through the puddle.
