At night, shortly after the sun set I could hear something outside of the
small cabin in the woods I was staying in, I cautiously moved to the window, every part of me said stay away, but something I couldn’t quite put my finger on drew me closer.

As I pulled back the curtain, I saw him standing there, naked as the branches of the trees; he stood there doing nothing, just watching. I opened the door as that something drew me ever closer to this man.

I grabbed my thick heavy coat from the door, ran to his side and placed the coat on his shoulders. I noticed he wasn’t weak, he was far from it. He shrugged the coat from his shoulders and grabbed my arm and pulled me to his chest. I struggled but it was useless.

He pressed his lips to mine, forcing his tongue deep into my mouth, to my disgust I responded, throwing my head back and nourishing on his sweet invasion. Rasping for breath, when at last he released me and with my head swirling, I rested against the tree. As I opened my eyes I looked in horror, he was nowhere to be seen. I searched the cabin, but nothing. I ached for the touch of this mysterious man, I wonder if I will ever see him again?

Ughh, if I could reach I’d have kicked myself.  Any other night the same thing may not have bothered me but tonight is not the night for this kind of thing. As I have just removed myself from a wretched relationship, the last thing I need right now is to let another man walk all over me.

Leona put down her pen as a cold shiver ran down her spine. “That’s enough for tonight” she said to herself as she closed her diary, gently tying the red ribbon around it.

She had just finished stoking the fire when she thought she heard something again, this time she was determined not to look, but her resolve was draining quickly, she turned on the radio, and turned it up as loudly as it would go, but it still didn’t drown out her thoughts.  She opened her diary again.

I shouldn’t look what if he is there again? Would I be able to say no? What if?

“What the heck?” she said as she threw the pen on the desk and slowly made her way to the window; she pulled back the curtain, this time nothing.  Feeling just a little calmer and more than a little disappointed, she tidies her desk up, but leaves the diary open.

That night her dreams were vivid, she dreamt that he takes her in his arms and pulls her naked body to his, he feathers gentle kisses on her neck, slowly methodically, increasing her burning desire to the point of explosion, slowly his hands caress the cheeks of her silky behind, lifting her gently to allow his mouth, hot access to her pulsating nipples, as his mouth surrounds the sensitive tip, her body convulsed throwing him off balance, having them both land on the bed. Expertly though his mouth was still attached, sending her higher and higher, beyond the realms of sanity, she feels him shift his weight ready to enter her haven.  She opened her eyes, to see again, that no one was there.

She again picked up the pen and wrote every detail down,
I couldn’t believe it when I opened my eyes, nothing, yet I felt hot and breathless, beads of perspiration on my skin, and I tingled all over. What is happening to me?

Normally Leona wouldn’t be so presumptuous about things, but she was more than a little worried about yesterday’s events. She packed her backpack and proceeded to walk deeper into the woods. She hadn’t intended going very far, but suddenly she realised she had been walking for forty minutes. She should have taken more notice of where she was going; she was lost.

Resting on a tree stump, she opened her backpack and removed her drink, not even getting the lid off the bottle, she heard laughter behind her, it was eerie and unnerving, somehow mesmerizing, to anyone else she would have recommended to stay away, but she had so many questions, she needed answers, besides, she was being pulled in it’s direction, she couldn’t walk away even if she’d wanted to.

It wasn’t long before she found herself outside a cabin. The door was slightly ajar, she called but there was no answer, calling again she pushed the door; there was a slow almost deafening creak. She walked in fighting with large cobwebs, and with each step she took on the wooden floorboards; dust would spurt into the air making her cough.

Suddenly the door slammed behind her, echoing through the entire cabin, her heart was beating fast, she found it hard to breathe, it must have been the dust mingled with the damp musty smell. The shutters were across the windows making it hard to see, she fumbled around looking for candle or something, and she banged her leg on the table, cursing quite loudly.

There goes that laughter again “Who are you?” she called, no answer, just an even louder more soul penetrating laugh. She ran quickly towards the door, it was locked. She turned slowly as she felt hot breath on her neck; a hand touched her shoulder leaving fiery tracks burning into her skin.

A hand gently touched her arm “W what do you want?” she asked not daring to move “I…”  He placed his finger on her lips
“Quiet Leona, I wont hurt you” His voice was silky and colourful like a rainbow, guaranteed even to break down the resolve of the ice maiden herself.

Her eyes fast becoming accustomed to the light, she noticed hints of daylight floating through the shutters and out of the shadow stepped the man from the previous day.
She tried to speak but he wouldn’t let her, he picked her up and kissed her gently,
“Don’t worry” His words echoed through her mind, she had every right to worry; she knew what he could do to her, his magical touch aroused a passion she never even knew she had. Her mind was working overtime, should she close her eyes she knew he would disappear again, she wanted him, NO she needed him.

His hands became more intrusive roaming every part of her dampened body. Over and over, up and down, his hands moved raking every part of her fiery hot skin, she pleaded for more until finally she could take no more, her whole body erupted like a volcano, she squealed with delight at her release. Slowly she could feel herself floating down from the heavens, her lips moist from his extraordinary  kisses. She lay on his shoulder and fell swiftly to sleep.

When she awoke she found herself in the clearing by her cabin, she felt warm and satisfied as she took out her diary to write the days events.
I wonder where my journey will take me next? Will this be a permanent arrangement?   I know what my personal preferences are. She smiled to herself as she walked to her cabin, unaware of the burning eyes behind her.

'The object of those burning eyes would like to tell his account of things, not that Leona isn't telling the truth, but rather I thought you might like to know a bit about me'.

'I know what would be your first question were we to meet, “Why stand in the woods with no clothes on?” the answer my friends is simple, she would not have run to help me had I been fully clothed, now I have her undivided attention, I can..... Sorry, I got a little carried away'

I was once her lover, someone she has long forgotten, someone she will not remember, she was my lover in a past life, I have searched long and hard to find her again, this time I will not let her go.  You see long ago I was cursed by a witch, she wanted me for her lover and I would not heed to her wishes, no matter what she did, I fought her, she cursed me saying that forever I would know who I was, what I had done, I would be destined to walk the earth forever unless I could find my one true love. I can hear her words now “And as she is dead, that will be impossible” That cackle so evil. Just thinking about it makes me shiver.

I have watched her for months now as she struggled to get away from her often too violent partner, he had started to drink, on top of this he lost his job, not a good mixture when you have a drinking problem anyway. Poor Leona, I couldn't help her, she wouldn't let anyone help her, she always had to do things her way, one of the reasons why I love her.

“Sweet, sweet Leona, if only you knew, if only you would tell me that you love me, I would be free, free to live at your side and die a natural death”  His heart was heavy as he watched her through an opening of the curtain, he could see she was beginning to enjoy his advances, but knew it would take a little more time, she wasn’t ready yet to trust another man.

'Another day tomorrow' he thought 'another chance to convince her that I am the man for her'

Leona was still floating in the clouds when she opened her diary just before she went to bed that night, 'I know that something this beautiful can only be temporary, but the feelings this man aroused in me have a magical aura to them and if I am destined to go on this journey and sharing these wild molten moments with him, then so be it. Wherever this man wants to take me I will go, whether over mountains or to the end of a rainbow, I am his'.

She sighed heavily, knowing that soon she must return to civilisation and rejoin the hum drum life of everyday people, knowing that there would be message after message from Andrew, knowing all too well that he was sorry, but for how long? She had been there and done that. She didn't want him back, she would rather be alone her entire life than have him back with his foul language and stale ale and tobacco breath, how had she stayed with him for so long? She shuddered uncontrollably at the thought of ever having him near her again.

Darkness fell quickly, all too quickly for Leona, but it wasnt the darkness outside, there was a dark shadow falling over her heart, clouds of despair cursed through her as she realised she was going to lose this brief new life she had, would she ever have the love she so rightly deserved, 'doesn't everyone deserve at least one true love?' She asked herself.

More and more she wanted to hear his laughter, she didn't want to know his name, she only wanted him to tell her he loved her, she would know that he meant it, she could feel it. Her tears flowed freely like a mountain stream, flooding her diary just as the stream would flood the river. How she longed to feel him next to her, caressing gently in plush green fields surrounded by beautiful buttercups, 'what a scene?' she thought to herself, 'I wonder what he would have to say about that?'

Rocking herself gently, she laughed so hard she felt as though she was on the boundary of insanity, afterall, she was talking to herself, she was in love with a man who it seemed wasn't even there, and to top it all she would go to the ends of the earth for him, now how sane is that?

That night as she slept, he was at her side, he wanted so badly to reveal his love to her, but as only his true love(Leona) was able to see him, to live a life to the full with her, she was going to have to declare her love for him to his face.

Her sleep very disturbed, she twisted and turned almost once or twice falling out of bed, but this time he knew he wasn't the cause, or was he?

Leona started to stir, not wanting to startle her he left. Even so Leona awoke breathless, she had sensed someone there, looking around she had put it down to the disturbing night she had had. Shrugging her shoulders she got up and put on her dressing gown and went to the dressing table where her diary was opened.

Suddenly there was a loud knock at the door, “Leeona, open thiss damn door right now” panic ran through her veins, it was Andrew, he sounded angry and drunk. How had he found her, she hadn't told anyone where she was going “yooou diddn't assk meee if yooou could leaf girrl”

Slowly reaching for the poker beside the fireplace, fumbling slightly with her eyes transfixed on the door, she retrieved it, edging a little closer to the door, her heart was beating like a jungle drum, her breathing deep and heavy, her head thumping to the sound of his knocks on the door. “I don't need your permission to do anything Andrew, you don't own me, you never have”

“If yooou fink yooou are getting haway thaat easssily” Bang! BANG! BANG! Went his fists on the door.

“I don't want you here, GO AWAY” she screamed. How she wished at this moment in time she was elsewhere, anywhere but here. She was afraid of what he would do if he got in, he had hit her once before, it was the drink, she knew that, but that was the reason she had left him. He had made a promise to never do it again, but she knew he would, she had seen it happen before, all too often. He was no different to her father, he had been an alcoholic, she couldn't go through the things her mother went through, nobody deserves that.

“Arrre yooou lisnen tooo meee, I ssaid get out here” Never, she would fight him all the way, he was not going to be a winner. CRASH!!! he cursed madly as his shoulder came into contact roughly with the wooden door “once moore” BANG!!! he was in, he fell flat on his face, his activities had made him breathless, it was a struggle for him to get up, Leona saw her chance and jumped over his sprawled form, only he was just a little too quick, he grabbed her ankle making her misplace her footing and fall heavily onto her right ankle.

“Damn you Andrew, I have had enough” She picked herself up and hobbled to a tree stump about twenty yards from the cabin “ Don't you get it? I don't want to be with you anymore, I thought I made that quite clear?” His eyes were narrow as he squinted from the sun, she could feel herself becoming bolder as he picked himself up from being spreadeagled across the floor. He tried to put one foot in front the other, but his inebriated state caused his feet to falter and fall once again flat on his face. This time, he stayed there, he had passed out, Leona was thankful, but knew it was time to move on.

She packed the last of her things into her case and looked around, sighing she closed the door behind her. Andrew was still lying on the ground where he fell, he would wake up, probably really sore and not even know why he was here, that's what usually happens. “Are you going somewhere?” Leona was startled “I thought you were staying longer?” he looked down at Andrew “ Aha! I see why, please Leona, don't go"

She couldn't stay here, not after this, he would never leave her alone, she knew that, there was nothing else for it. “It's bad enough that I feel as though I am living in the twilight zone, without having him knowing where I am”

He swiftly took her in his arms, lifting her, kissing her gently “Leona”

“Kiss me” she ordered “Just kiss me damn it” his lips softly covered hers, his kisses were not demanding as before, they were gentle and sweet, his feathering kisses down her neck wove tapestries on her heart “I love you” she said feeling dizzy.

“That isn't enough, I need to know” Her mind started working in different ways, maybe it was just curiosity, maybe it was just the condition his enchanted kisses and beguiling touches were leaving her in, She didn't understand why, but she had to say something, she had to know.

She watched him with curious eyes “I can't Leona, I need you to tell me” She picked up her back pack, took out her diary and opened it to her last entry 'Wherever this man wants to take me I will go, whether over mountains or to the end of a rainbow, I am his'. “You are my one true love, if only you would entertain returning the favour, we would live our lives together, happily”

Andrew woke just long enough to see Leona in the arms of another man, then passed out again.

Marcus and Leona lived out their lives in the woods, going only into civilization for supplies, they raised two wonderful children Charlene and James, they both found their true loves, married and moved to the city, returning frequently to visit their parents, now two stones have been placed side by side, by the little cabin deep in the woods to commemorate the wonderful life of Marcus and Leona, As they had said they wanted to walk side by side for eternity, it was a tribute from their two children.
